UNIVERSITY NEWS | โ€˜Give him 100%โ€™: Damance backs Lagunilla in QSU-C leadership turnover

Outgoing Campus Administrator Prof. Baltazar Damance urged the QSU-C community to throw their full support behind his successor, Dr. Ariel Lagunilla, during the official turnover ceremony at the Registrar's lobby on Monday, August 3.

Stepping down after serving as the Campus Administrator since 2017, Damance reflected on his 36 years of service to the institution, using his turnover address to express gratitude and call for campus unity under the new leadership.

Following the symbolic transfer of authority, Lagunilla officially accepted the role, acknowledging the trust placed in him by the Board of Regents, the University President, faculty, staff, and students.

Lagunilla came from the College of Business where he served as Program Chair of Entrepreneurship for 5 years, and a proud alumnus of Quirino Polytechnic College (QPC), now known as Quirino State University - Cabarroguis Campus.

For 14 years of service, he also served as the University Sports Director for seven years, and nine years as Student Government Adviser of QSU-C, showing his dedication and leadership in the institution.

โ€œWell, I am a strong believer on the Principle of Continuity and Alignment," Lagunilla said, emphasizing to continue the projects under Damance's administration, and future steps will be 100 percent aligned in the Universityโ€™s Top Management direction under the leadership of the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) President Dr. Romiro Bautista.

He also expressed that every student, faculty and staff will not be left in the journey of the University's success.

Taking the helm of his alma mater, Lagunilla emphasized that his leadership would be grounded in collaboration and deep respect for the educators who once taught him.

โ€œI stand before you, not someone above you, but as a brother who listens... who honors your wisdom, my dear mentors, my former teachers. I will also be a friend who walks alongside you in times of difficulty and triumph,โ€ Lagunilla said.

The new Campus Administrator also reflected on his personal connection to the Campus community.

โ€œThank you, everyone, for reminding me. I stand before you as a proud alumnus of Quirino State University-Cabarroguis Campus, this very institution that gave me my foundation,โ€ he added.

The ceremony, attended by university officials, faculty members, and student leaders, highlighting the campus' continuing commitment to its mission and vision while celebrating both a legacy of service and a welcoming new beginning.
