Description:

These webinars will be seen on multimedia such as Facebook Live, Video ads on
YouTube and Televisions, etc. We will be having our own website and pages in social
media sites where all people will be able to access, read our articles and find inspirational
notes. The public will be able to share their own stories that will serve as a lesson not
only for teenagers, but also those included in the today’s modern generation. We will also
be collaborating with other organizations all over the country so that Filipinos from
different regions and/or speak different dialects can still attend and learn in our webinars.
We will invite attendees from different schools and provide forms so that
students will set their own schedule in attending our webinar. The organization will also
have branches in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao so that we can manage our advocacy
better and raise awareness for as many people as possible.

Uplift Awareness, Uphold Mindfulness provides webinars with different topics
and discussions about:

-Personal Skills (including communication, negotiation, and decision-
making)
-Sexual Behavior (including abstinence and s*xuality throughout life)
-Sexual Health (including s*xually transmitted diseases, contraception, and
pregnancy)
-Society and Culture (including gender roles, diversity, and s*xuality in the
media)

Purpose:

The main motive of this project is to provide education and awareness to prevent
early parenthood.
The project is worth sponsoring for it helps our youth to be mindful towards
intimacy and in*******se, and how they can address it properly to develop better decision-
making. It is not only for them but also for the benefit of Filipino families in general.
This will also provide free lectures, discussions, tackle vital topics for the attendees to have insights and knowledge about s*x. This project will make teenagers realize that
early pregnancy can greatly affect their dreams thus causing damage to their mental,
physical, and emotional health.
This will provide learnings, knowledge, insights, and realizations to an
individual’s mindset and perspective towards the said topics.

Introduction:

Over a 10-year period, 1.2 million Filipina girls between the ages of 10 and 19
have had a child. That's a rate of 24 babies per hour. And the rate of teenage pregnancy is
rising. According to the most recent data, collected every 10 years, in 2002, 6.3 percent
of teenagers were pregnant; by 2013 it had gone up to 13.6 percent. The pandemic has
made the situation worse. With Manila under a strict lockdown — including limited
access to medical facilities, no public transportation and harshly enforced rules on not
going out — access to birth control has been severely curtailed, particularly for teenagers.
This project aims to provide awareness to the youth with the motto “Prevention is
better than solution.” As according to the project name, the project will uplift awareness
and uphold mindfulness to individuals, especially teenagers in ages 13-17. As we all
know, s*x education is crucial because in that age, they are curious and still young to
experience those things. Teenage pregnancy contributes in over population and
population density in our country, thus having an effect to poverty, unemployment, and
the inability to study in schools that concludes negative effects to Filipino families. Since
we are still affected by the pandemic due to the Covid-19 virus, the team will create and
host webinars so that even in times of quarantine, the organization can share ideas and
information. This will also provide counseling on teens who are already dealing with
teenage pregnancy.
The project will have volunteers and speakers that will join on every webinar that
the organization will attend.
