𝐀𝐔𝐆𝐔𝐒𝐓 21 | 𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐎𝐘 𝐀𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐍𝐎 𝐃𝐀𝐘

Ngayon araw, 𝐀𝐠𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐨 21, ay ginugunita natin ang araw ng pag-alala kay 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐨 "𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲" 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐉𝐫., na pinaslang noong 𝐀𝐠𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐨 21, 1983. Ang araw na ito ay binansagan bilang 𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐃𝐚𝐲.

Sa araw na ito ay binibigyang-pugay ang kaniyang katapangan, pagmamahal sa bayan, at paninindigan para sa demokrasya.

Naging mahalagang araw ito dahil ang kaniyang pagkamatay ay naging malaking bahagi ng kasaysayan ng Pilipinas. Ito ay nagdulot ng malawakang pagkilos para sa demokrasya, kalayaan, at pagbabago. Sa kalaunan, humantong ang pagkilos na ito sa 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 noong 1986.

Ang pagdiriwang ng araw na ito nawa'y magsilbing paalala na ang pagmamahal sa bayan, ipagmalaki ang lakas ng bayanihan ng mga Pilipino, at laging manindigan para sa demokrasya.

Through 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗼'𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗮, every classroom is challenged to nurture and maintain 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 proudly bearing a 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀, throughout the school year. More than just adding greenery to our classrooms, this initiative reminds every Camp Tinian that even the 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

Camp Tinians, Let’s turn your paper waste into meaningful change! Instead of throwing away used bond papers, worksheets, and test papers, place them in the 𝗘𝗰𝗼-𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗼𝘅 that will soon be available in every classroom.

Collected papers will be recycled, and the proceeds will help fund student-centered initiatives, including 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲-𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁, a free Monday pandesal program for early-arriving Camp Tinians.

One sheet of paper can make a difference. Together, let’s make this project move for a greener and more sustainable environment!

𝗢𝗣𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗡 | 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝘀, 𝗪𝗼𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀

They say our words hold great power. The power to influence. The power to change. And yet our words bound us to the imperfections our free will has acted upon. Because, to speak is to blunder. To speak is to give up your ideas that may or may not deliver a foul consequence. You may not see it, but its causality does not pay mind to feeble regards—what happened, happened. It is irrefutable.

To say the least, the complexity behind our words are as complex as it can be. Meaning, it is absurd to blame only one factor that goes in the intentionality of what we speak when the issue goes deeper. And yet, it does not matter whether the words that left our lips were deliberate or planned, because it was on our own accord to have let our free will act on that idea. It was our own choice, ourselves voicing the word, "yes", internally.

People often fail to tell the lines between what seperates insensitivity and a mere joke; and yet, who are we to just brush it off with a simple, "it's just a joke"? Condemnable, the people who do so. The words we say, the phrases we speak, all of it can have a great consequence—good or bad. And in the grand scheme of things, between life and death, a word can spark a fire. It is not just about the emotional impact insenstive words can have, it is also about the information our words can carry. Falsehood, may or may not be just for the fun of it?—Daresay, why? Why do people incline themselves to jest or joke around in the midst of madness?

Is it to cope?
Is it to lighten up the mood?
Or is it simply just speaking beyond of what's defined as a joke itself?

You see, we cannot recall the words of which we have chosen to let go. It is like an arrow that you shot yourself, darting onwards. Slapping on the label of, "I didn't mean it", does not dismiss the fact that it is still said and done. It is no longer an internal thought—it is external by itself now. In the midst of any madness or unfortunate circumstances, be it outside of our control or not, we must ask ourselves: are we trying to heal the fracture, or are simply amused by the sound of things breaking around us?

But, what can we do about it?
Be sensitive. In taking a deep look at the weight of your current words, be sensitive. What will be the effects if I did say so? Take full accountability.

And now, I call to you. In a world where society convicts people who are triggered by the words it speaks, are they simply being too sensitive? Or did the one who spouted that nonsense simply lacked the ability to read between what is acceptable and unacceptable.

Because in the face of spouting insensitivity, you are nothing more than a perpetrator yourself.

Thus, 𝑾𝒐𝒆 𝑩𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒅.
