Congratulations to 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗦. 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮 for clinching 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 in the Division-wide Essay Writing Contest in celebration of Buwan ng Wika at Kasaysayan 2026, under the guidance of his teacher-coach Ma’am Mhelanie Francisco.

𝗡𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘆 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗔 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨.

Not the kind that points north, but the kind that reminds people where they stand when history tests their direction.

For the Philippines, one of those compass points bears the name Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr.

On August 21, 1983, Ninoy returned to the country despite the dangers that awaited him. What followed became one of the most pivotal moments in Philippine history. His assassination shook the nation, ignited conversations that could no longer be silenced, and strengthened the growing call for democracy.

More than four decades later, Ninoy Aquino Day is more than a date on the calendar. It is a reminder that courage is not always loud. Sometimes, it looks like choosing conviction over comfort, principle over safety, and hope over fear.

Like a stone cast into still water, the impact of one act of courage continued far beyond the moment it was made. The ripples reached generations that never witnessed that day, yet continue to inherit its lessons.

𝘽𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙝𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙖 𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙙.

Wika ang nagbibigkis sa kultura, pagkakakilanlan, at kasaysayan ng bansa. Nagsisilbi itong kasangkapan sa paglikha, pagpapalaya, pagkakaisa, at sa kasalukuyan, sa pananaliksik na naghahatid ng mayamang impormasyon sa tulong na rin ng Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Sa gitna ng pag-usbong ng AI at pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika, ipinaaalaala ng Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) — sa pamamagitan ng temang "Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon" — na ang AI ay gabay lamang at hindi kapalit ng isip ng tao sa pagpapayabong ng kaalaman at pagsusulong ng wikang pambansa.

Sa pamamagitan ng responsableng paggamit ng AI, patuloy napagtitibay ang wika bilang pundasyon ng karunungan at pagkamakabansa.

JULY 17, 2026 – The microphones are on as aspiring radio broadcasters and voice talents took center stage during today's screening at San Josef National High School, Annex Campus. With confidence, clear diction, and engaging delivery, participants showcased their broadcasting skills as they vied for a place in the school's official student publication.

The screening marked the beginning of their journey in campus journalism, giving students the opportunity to amplify their voices, sharpen their communication skills, and embrace the responsibility of informing and inspiring the school community. One microphone, one voice, and countless stories await the next generation of campus broadcasters.

July 16, 2026 — Creativeness filled the air as the third day of the screening showcased the exceptional talent in speech, Science Writing, and Photojournalism at San Josef National High School, Annex Campus.

The event now heads into its final stretch with the broadcasting category, where the aspiring participants will show the truth using their voices and intellect.

𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗡 | Aspring Journalists PRESS forward to Day 2

JULY 15, 2026 – Paper and pens are on fire as aspiring columnists and cartoonists ignite their passion on the Day 2 of screening held today at San Josef National High School, Annex Campus.

The screening process is expected to continue for the rest of the week, alloted for the remaining writing and broadcasting categories that will help journalists pursue their commitment to journalism.
