𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | 𝗖𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘅

The City Government of Cabanatuan has officially implemented the new Tricycle Fare Matrix Ordinance effective July 2, 2026, introducing updated fare rates, operational regulations, and penalties for violations to promote a more standardized and transparent public transportation system.

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲
Under Section 3 of the ordinance, the minimum "rapok" or pick-up fare is set at ₱35.00 per passenger for the first three kilometers (3km), or any fraction thereof, from the point of origin within Cabanatuan City.

Students, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities (PWDs) continue to receive the mandatory 20% fare discount, bringing the minimum fare down to ₱28.00 per passenger. Meanwhile, passengers requesting a special or solo trip will be charged the equivalent of two passenger fares at ₱70.00, while discounted special trips for qualified passengers amount to ₱56.00.

𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
Pursuant to Section 4, an additional ₱5.00 per passenger shall be charged for every succeeding one (1) kilometer, or fraction beyond the initial three-kilometer distance.

The ordinance also limits every "Tricycle-for-Hire" to a maximum capacity of three (3) passengers per trip to ensure passenger safety and compliance with local transportation regulations.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
To protect commuters and uphold fair public transport practices, the ordinance prohibits the following acts:

• Overcharging or collecting fares beyond the approved matrix;
• Refusal to convey passengers to their destination;
• Failure to display the approved fare matrix;
• Subcontracting or selectively choosing passengers; and
• Overloading beyond the prescribed passenger capacity.

Violators shall face the following penalties:

• First Offense: ₱500.00 fine or one (1)-day impoundment of the tricycle unit;
• Second Offense: ₱1,000.00 fine or seven (7)-day impoundment; and
• Third Offense: Cancellation and revocation of the Motorized Tricycle Operator's Permit (MTOP) in accordance with applicable laws and administrative procedures.

The implementation of the ordinance seeks to provide commuters with a standardized fare system while strengthening accountability among tricycle operators and drivers throughout Cabanatuan City.

As we continue striving for a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable campus, the Center for Student Development and Leadership (CSDL), the General Services Department (GSD), and the Araullo University Central Student Council (AUCSC) remain committed to promoting the Zero Basura Campaign.

In this initiative, the use and entry of single-use plastic items—including plastic bottles, plastic cups, plastic bags, and Styrofoam containers—are prohibited inside the campus.

Additionally, every Tuesday and Friday, students are encouraged to bring their own reusable tumblers and food containers (canisters). On these days, campus canteens are not allowed to produce take-out bowls, paper cups, or other disposable food containers as part of the University's ongoing commitment to reducing waste and promoting sustainable habits.

Matapos ang ilang taong panawagan, patuloy na pakikipag-ugnayan, at sama-samang paninindigan, mula noong 2022 nang simulan ang panawagan at ngayon, July 20, 2026, Reporma sa Pasada, epektibo na.

Isang malaking tagumpay para sa mga araw-araw na Komyuter, lalo na sa mga estudyante, na matagal nang nanindigan para sa makatarungan, malinaw, at pare-parehong sistema ng pamasahe sa Lungsod ng Cabanatuan.

Ang bagong ordinansa ay nagsasaad ng opisyal na fare matrix na magsisilbing gabay sa parehong mga pasahero at mga tricycle driver sa Cabanatuan. Layunin nitong wakasan ang hindi magkaka-parehong singil sa pamasahe at palakasin ang pananagutan, transparency, at pagiging patas sa pampublikong transportasyon.

Para sa Cabanatuan City Student Congress, ang pagpapatibay at pagpapatupad ng ordinansa ay patunay na ang boses ng kabataan at ng mamamayan ay may kakayahang magbunsod ng tunay na pagbabago.

Sa pagsisimula ng implementasyon ng bagong fare matrix, hinihikayat ang lahat ng komyuter at transport operators na sundin ang mga itinakdang pamasahe at makiisa sa pagpapanatili ng isang patas, responsable, at makataong sistema ng pampublikong transportasyon.

Mula sa panawagan, naging ordinansa. Mula sa adbokasiya, naging reporma. Ang laban para sa makatarungang pasada ay hindi na lamang panawagan — isa na itong ganap na ordinansa para sa ating mamamayan.

The Araullo University Central Student Council (AUCSC) is aware of a screenshot containing an alleged threat currently circulating within the university community. The information remains unverified and has not been officially confirmed.

As a precautionary measure, currently regular security patrols and security checks are being conducted across the campus to help ensure the safety and security of the university community. The AUCSC remains in close coordination with the concerned offices and will provide further updates once the information has been verified and the circumstances surrounding the alleged threat have been properly established.
