The Senior High School Department successfully conducted its 2026 In-Service Training for Teachers (INSETT) through the Faculty Development Leadership Academy held on June 1–5 and June 17–18, 2026. This professional development initiative aimed to strengthen instructional leadership, enhance teaching practices, and prepare educators for the successful implementation of the strengthened Senior High School curriculum.

The academy featured a distinguished lineup of speakers who shared their expertise and insights:

Prof. Noliver M. Garcia, High School Principal, discussed The Senior High School of GSC: Foundations, Vision, and Direction and Navigating the Strengthened SHS Curriculum: Embracing Key Structural Reforms, Process Upgrades, and New Implementation Pathways.

Ms. Angelica Pangilinan, Mathematics Coordinator, presented sessions on Navigating Success: Understanding SHS Policies and Procedures, Reflective Teaching Practices, and Streamlining SHS Administration: Mastering Standardized Forms, Templates, and Document Workflows.

Mr. Francisco R. Vargas, SHS Director, shared valuable insights on Aligning Assessment with Learning Competencies and Data Analysis for Classroom-Based Research.

Mr. Jomar S. Jepa, Science Coordinator, facilitated a session on Performance-Based Assessment Strategies, introducing the (GRASP Model and SOLO Taxonomy).

Ms. Marisol B. CondeSHS Assistant Director, discussed Differentiated Instruction in Diverse Classrooms, Mapping Milestones: Creating a Performance Task Timeline for Optimal Outcomes, and Beyond the Four Walls: Leveraging Stakeholder Partnerships for Holistic Student Support.

Mr. Gener Cosilet Jr., Canvas Champion 2025 – Faculty, conducted a session on Using Learning Management Systems (LMS) Effectively.

Ms. Jetlyn Mortera, Research Coordinator, discussed Data Analysis for Classroom-Based Research.

Ms. Jackylou Ferry, Mr. Jestine Villegas, and Ms. Shaira Magpayo, Grade Level Leaders for Mathematics, English, and Social Science, respectively, facilitated a session on Crafting Adaptable Learning: Formulating a Flexible Instructional Development Plan (FIDP).

Ms. Janus Pearl Villareal, SHS Program Counselor, and Ms. Judy Ann Samonte, SHS Discipline Associate, led the OSA Orientation to Faculty: Guidance and Discipline Policies and Guidelines.

The Faculty Development Leadership Academy served as a meaningful platform for collaboration, reflection, and professional growth, equipping educators with the knowledge, skills, and strategies necessary to provide quality, relevant, and learner-centered education.

As we begin another academic year, we carry forward the lessons learned from INSETT 2026 with renewed dedication to excellence in teaching, leadership, and service.
