In this article published on January 10, 2023, the Department of Education (DepEd) is set to present a revised K to12 (Kinder to Grade 12) curriculum by Jan. 30. According to Malacañang press briefer Daphne Oseña-Paez, this was among the topics discussed during a Cabinet meeting presided by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday.

“The Department of Education, the Secretary VP Inday Sara Duterte presented the plans for inclusive learning, support for teachers, improving the curriculum. The DepEd will be presenting a revised K-12 curriculum for basic education on January 30,” she said in a report by the Philippine News Agency.

DepEd to present revised K-12 curriculum Jan. 30 QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The Department of Education (DepEd) is set to present a revised K to12 (Kinder to Grade 12) curriculum by Jan. 30.

On June 22, 2022, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian said he supports a review of the K to 12 education program, adding that its promises have “never been fulfilled.”

“It’s about time talaga [to review it]. The promises of K-12 have never been fulfilled and one of the most important promises is for our senior high school to land a job after graduation,” Gatchalian, who has all the odds in his favor to keep his Senate education committee chairmanship, told reporters in an interview.

In the year 2022, Duterte said the department has finished the review for K to 10, while the review for Grades 11-12 is still pending. Duterte however explained it will take 2-3 years for any changes to take effect.
