Meet 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐭 (𝐏𝐋𝐓) 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐳, a proud BS Criminology graduate of Manuel V. Gallego Foundation Colleges, Class of 2010, whose journey reflects continuous learning, professional growth, and dedication to public service.

Before earning his 𝐁𝐒 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐕𝐆𝐅𝐂 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟎, PLT Cruz completed his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Araullo University (1990–1994). He also pursued Master’s units in Criminal Justice at Emilio Aguinaldo College from 2013 to 2014, further expanding his academic foundation in the field of criminal justice and public safety.

As a member of the Philippine National Police (PNP), PLT Cruz recently achieved another professional milestone as a graduate of the Public Safety Officer Basic Course (PSOBC). The course further strengthened his knowledge and skills in crisis management and public safety administration, preparing him to effectively handle the demands of law enforcement and public safety.

Through these affiliations and experiences, he continues to uphold values of discipline, leadership, brotherhood, integrity, professionalism, and service.

This September, MVGFC Alumni Affairs proudly recognizes Sir Ronnel as our Alumni of the Month. His educational journey, professional development, and continued commitment to public service demonstrate the many ways our Gallegan alumni continue to grow and make a difference in their respective fields.

Congratulations, 𝐏𝐋𝐓 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐳! Your journey from educator to criminologist and public safety officer is a testament to the value of lifelong learning and purposeful service.

𝑴𝒔. 𝑵𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒃𝒆𝒍 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒐𝒂𝒏𝒈's journey from serving as a Nursing Student Officer – Vice President for SY 2021–2022 at MVGFC to becoming a Nurse Officer of the Philippine Coast Guard is a story of a dream fulfilled through leadership, discipline, learning, and service.

Her years at MVGFC helped shape not only her knowledge and skills as a nurse, but also her character, leadership, discipline, and commitment to service. Along the way, the guidance and dedication of her mentors played an important role in her journey, especially the late Ms. Rosalyn B. Bilog, Dean of Nursing, whose mentorship became one of the keys that helped her reach where she is today.

Today, she carries the lessons and values she gained from her alma mater onboard a 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐥, where she serves as a 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫. Her profession now takes her beyond the classroom and into the sea, where she provides healthcare support to fellow Coast Guard personnel while taking part in operations around Bajo de Masinloc and the West Philippine Sea in fulfillment of the Philippine Coast Guard’s mission.

From a nursing student who once dreamed of serving, she is now 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒆𝒂—bringing with her the lessons of her mentors, the values instilled by MVGFC, and the support of the people who believed in her.

Her story reminds us that 𝒔𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒔𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒚 𝒂 𝒓𝒐𝒍𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒅 𝒐𝒏 𝒄𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒖𝒔—it can become a foundation for a lifetime of meaningful service.

This is her Leadership Legacy.
From Student Leader to Nurse Officer. From Dreaming of Service to Living It.
