Cabadbaran City National High School continues to prioritize the safety and well-being of our learners and personnel following the earthquake and several aftershocks recorded on August 21 and 22, originating from the Jabonga Fault in Agusan del Norte.

Personnel from the Office of the City Building Official (OCBO), headed by Acting City Building Official Engr. Mary Jean N. Paelmao, together with Engr. Marlon Canesares and other OCBO staff, conducted an evaluation and safety assessment of the school’s structures in both the Junior and Senior High School campuses to determine their condition following the recent seismic activity.

The assessment was also made possible through the coordination and support of the Cabadbaran City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), through its Head, Ms. Jane P. Mansalay.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to Barangay 12 Punong Barangay Hon. Val L. Villanueva for initiating the request for the structural assessment. This proactive step demonstrates the importance of strong collaboration among the school, barangay, and city offices in ensuring the safety of our school community.

Joining the OCBO team were School Principal Ma’am Maribeth C. Cabradilla, SPTA President Mesael Beniga, and SPTA Disbursing Officer Claire Demeterio.

This collaborative effort reflects our shared commitment to ensuring that our school facilities remain safe, secure, and conducive to learning. We are grateful to all the offices and individuals who responded promptly and worked together to address the concerns brought about by the recent seismic activity.

Our heartfelt thanks to the OCBO, CDRRMO, Barangay 12, and everyone who contributed to this important safety initiative.

The safety of our learners is, and will always be, the school’s utmost priority.

This morning’s Flag Ceremony at Cabadbaran City National High School highlighted the importance of staying CALM, ALERT, and RESPONSIBLE, especially in light of the recent anonymous social media post that caused concern within the school community.

As a precautionary measure and to further ensure the safety of our learners and personnel, PNP Cabadbaran personnel headed by PLTCOL Edsel M. Caramonte, together with the Barangay CVOs with Barangay 12 Punong Barangay Val L. Villanueva, were present during the Flag Ceremony.

School Principal Ma’am Maribeth C. Cabradilla assured the learners that the school has already coordinated with the PNP and Barangay officials to strengthen safety and security measures. She reminded everyone not to panic but to remain CALM and ALERT.

Learners were also encouraged to immediately report any suspicious or unusual behavior to their adviser, teacher, or the Office of the School Principal. Everyone has a role to play in keeping our school safe.

THINK BEFORE YOU POST. This was one of the important reminders shared by PLTCOL Edsel M. Caramonte focused on the responsible use of social media.

He cautioned learners not to assume that prank jokes posted on social media are harmless simply because they were meant as a joke. A social media post that may cause fear, alarm, panic, or concern for the safety of individuals or an entire community can have serious consequences.

PLTCOL Caramonte reminded everyone that under RA No. 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, certain unlawful acts committed through information and communications technology may carry legal consequences.

He emphasized that deleting a post does not necessarily mean that the person who posted it is free from accountability. Online content may leave digital traces and can still be subject to investigation. Therefore, learners are strongly reminded to think carefully before posting, commenting, sharing, or forwarding anything online—even in private or group chats.

PLTCOL Caramonte likewise assured our learners that the PNP remains ready and available to assist in ensuring their safety while they are in school.

Let us continue to work together as one school community—CALM, ALERT, RESPONSIBLE, and VIGILANT.

THINK BEFORE YOU POST.
BE RESPONSIBLE ONLINE.
SAFETY IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY.
