Angara Calls for Stronger Bayanihan at Brigada Eskwela 2026

Education Secretary Sonny Angara stressed the importance of unity and collective action during his keynote address at the National Brigada Eskwela 2026 Kick-Off Program, held on June 1, 2026, at the CCNHS-SHS Astrodome in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte, Caraga Region.

Secretary Angara congratulated the Caraga Region for successfully hosting both the Palarong Pambansa and the National Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off Program, recognizing the region's strong leadership and active community participation. He also announced support for additional classroom construction projects and commended local leaders, education officials, and stakeholders for their continued commitment to education.

The Secretary expressed gratitude to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for mobilizing thousands of TUPAD beneficiaries to assist in Brigada Eskwela activities, noting that such initiatives further encourage community involvement in school improvement efforts.

Highlighting ongoing education reforms, Angara thanked teachers, parents, partners, and volunteers for their patience, dedication, and unwavering support. He remarked that choosing Caraga as the venue was the right decision, citing the region's exemplary performance, hands-on education leaders, and strong culture of cooperation.

Secretary Angara concluded by encouraging all sectors to continue supporting education, emphasizing that every contribution is an investment in the nation's future—one whose benefits will be shared by generations to come.

Stronger Links for Learning at Brigada Eskwela 2026

The National Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off Program highlighted strengthened collaboration among education partners through a series of significant initiatives aimed at advancing quality learning.
Key highlights included the presentation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with national partners and stakeholders, reinforcing formal commitments to support DepEd programs and school readiness efforts.

The event also featured the turnover of donations, symbolizing continued community and institutional support for learners and schools. In addition, the launching of DepEd Caraga Blended Learning 4.1 marked a step forward in enhancing flexible and innovative learning delivery in the region.

Further strengthening digital access, the turnover of tablets was conducted to support learners in expanding their access to modern educational tools and resources.

These initiatives featured the collective responsibility of stakeholders in advancing education through collaboration, innovation, and continuous partnerships that support learner success.

Agusan del Norte Leaders Champion Bayanihan at National Brigada Eskwela 2026 Opening Ceremony

The National Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off Program, guided by the theme “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Pagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,” was held in full celebration on June 1, 2026 at the CCNHS-SHS Astrodome, Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte.

The city’s leadership and the Provincial Government of Agusan del Norte played a key role in hosting the national event, reflecting strong institutional support for education and community participation.

The program opened with a warm welcome from Honorable Judy Chin-Amante, City Mayor of Cabadbaran, who emphasized the enduring spirit of bayanihan as a driving force in strengthening schools and communities.

In her message of support, Governor Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante highlighted that nothing is impossible when people work together, stressing that the spirit of bayanihan remains strong in overcoming challenges and achieving shared goals for education.

Meanwhile, Representative Dale B. Corvera expressed gratitude and pride in hosting the national activity, noting that Brigada Eskwela is a shared responsibility and remains “alive and meaningful” through collective action.

Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte — In a powerful display of unity and environmental commitment, education and government leaders gathered for the National Brigada Eskwela 2026 Kick-Off Program Tree Planting Activity held on June 1, 2026, at the CCNHS-SHS Astrodome, Cabadbaran City, Caraga Region.

Led by Education Secretary Sonny Angara, the activity was participated in by DepEd ExeCom officials, Regional Directors, LGU officials, and education partners who collectively took part in planting trees as a symbol of hope, growth, and sustainability underscored to the collective responsibility of stakeholders in supporting both learners and the environment, strengthening the core values of Brigada Eskwela—collaboration, volunteerism, and community engagement.
