CONGRATULATIONS!

The Caraga State University Cabadbaran Campus (CSUCC) proudly congratulates Mr. John Rey L. Aguilar, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management (BSBA-FM) 4th Year student, for qualifying for the Finals Round of the Vietnamese-German University Economics and Finance Olympiad (VEFO 2025) under the mentorship of Mr. Fel S. Delota.

Mr. Aguilar will represent CSU Cabadbaran Campus in the finals to be held online, alongside onsite participants at the Vietnamese-German University in Vietnam on November 5โ€“6, 2025.

VEFO 2025 is the first competition of its kind in Vietnam, organized by the Vietnamese-German University in collaboration with the ICMR 2025 Conference. Modeled after the ULMA Economic Olympiad in Germany, it focuses on key disciplines in economics and finance and is conducted in a hybrid format to promote inclusivity and global participation.

This Olympiad provides students with the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, enhance analytical and critical thinking skills, and engage with peers, faculty members, and professionals in the field.

We commend Mr. Aguilar for his remarkable accomplishment and express our heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Delota for his guidance and dedication. The CSU Cabadbaran community stands proud as you bring honor to our University on the international stage.

The Department of Trade and Industryโ€“Agusan del Norte (DTIโ€“AdN), through the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP), in partnership with the Caraga State University Cabadbaran Campus (CSUโ€“CC), successfully held the Ceremonial Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing and Presentation of Research Findings under the project โ€œCocoSense: Navigating the Market Landscape for Coconut Products (Batch 2)โ€ on October 28, 2025, at Y Hotel, Butuan City.

Implemented under the Market Research Component of the CFIDP, this initiative aims to strengthen market intelligence and promote data-driven decision-making to help coconut-based MSMEs become more competitive and market-ready.

The activity began with opening preliminaries and acknowledgments led by the CocoSense Project Team, followed by welcome and inspirational messages from partner agencies and officials who highlighted the importance of research and collaboration in advancing the coconut industry.

A major highlight of the event was the Ceremonial MOA Signing between the Department of Trade and Industryโ€“Agusan del Norte (DTIโ€“AdN), Department of Trade and Industryโ€“Caraga (DTIโ€“Caraga), Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), and Caraga State Universityโ€“Cabadbaran Campus (CSUโ€“CC). The agreement symbolizes a unified commitment to advancing research-based initiatives that will contribute to the sustainability and competitiveness of the coconut sector in the region.

Inspirational and support messages were delivered by DTIโ€“Agusan del Norte Provincial Director Lorijane D. Sacote, DTIโ€“Caraga Regional Director RD Gay A. Tidalgo (duly represented by Mr. Dennis Solis), and Caraga State University President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil (duly represented by Mr. Junrie B. Matias). Each speaker emphasized the vital role of collaboration and research in driving innovation and inclusive growth within the coconut industry.

Another key highlight was the presentation of research findings by Dr. Gladys M. Amparado, Project Leader and Dean of the College of Business and Accountancy at CSUโ€“CC. The study showcased results from the 2025 Sandugo Trade Expo in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, where over 400 consumer surveys and more than 20 store-checks were conducted to examine market trends, purchasing behavior, and consumer preferences for coconut-based products. These insights are expected to help MSMEs refine their marketing strategies and improve product competitiveness.

The event was graced by representatives from the Provincial Agricultureโ€™s Office (PAO) and the City Agriculture and Veterinary Division (CAVD), further reinforcing the spirit of collaboration among government agencies, academe, and industry stakeholders.

The program concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Arcilly C. Gonzaga, DTI-ADN's CTIDS, who reaffirmed DTIโ€™s continued dedication to empowering coconut farmers and enterprises through research, innovation, and sustainable partnerships.

Through the CocoSense Project, DTIโ€“AdN and CSUโ€“CC continue to strengthen the bridge between research, innovation, and industry development under the CFIDPโ€”paving the way for a more resilient, competitive, and sustainable coconut industry in the Caraga Region.
