EARTHQUAKE INFORMATION | AGUSAN DEL NORTE

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck near Jabonga, Agusan del Norte at 12:44 p.m. on August 22, 2026, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), with a depth of 10 kilometers. The epicenter was located about 2 kilometers southwest of Jabonga, while Instrumental Intensity I was recorded in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.

Siya ay larawan ng bawat kabataang may sariling tinig at kuwentong naghihintay na maisalaysay. Habang papalapit ang araw ng pagdiriwang, tila mas lumalapit din ang sandaling siya ay lilingon. Sa araw na iyon, bibigyang buhay natin ang ating mga salaysay sa pamamagitan ng Islogan at Poster Making, Pagsulat ng Sanaysay, Dagliang Talumpati, Vocal Solo, at Vocal Duet. EARTHQUAKE INFORMATION | AGUSAN DEL NORTE

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck 7 km northwest of Jabonga, Agusan del Norte at 5:12 PM on August 21, 2026, with a depth of 10 km, according to PHIVOLCS.

Instrumental Intensities recorded Intensity II in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte, and Intensity I in Cagayan de Oro, Balingasag, and Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental, as well as San Francisco, Southern Leyte.

Residents are advised to stay calm, remain alert, and be prepared for possible aftershocks. Check your surroundings, stay away from damaged structures, and follow official advisories.

Northern Mindanao Colleges Inc. (NMCI) will resume face-to-face classes for the College Department on Monday, August 17, according to the Office of Academic Affairs.

The resumption comes ahead of the first-term final examinations scheduled for the following week. Students are advised to attend classes regularly, take note of the examination schedule and requirements, and coordinate with their instructors for further instructions.

Fourth-year college students are set to participate in a seminar on Time Management, Productivity, Work-Life Balance, and Labor Market Information (LMI) on August 14, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the NORMI Quadrangle.

The upcoming activity will feature Earl Dela Victoria, Board Secretary VI of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and Keith C. Duran, DOLE Provincial Head, as resource speakers. The seminar will focus on preparing graduating students for the demands of the workplace by providing insights on effective time management, productivity, work-life balance, and current labor market opportunities.

Due to the prevailing extreme heat conditions, all College classes scheduled this afternoon shall be conducted online until further notice.

Teaching personnel shall report to school and conduct their online classes from their designated areas within the school premises, while administrative personnel shall continue to report to work as scheduled.

The shift to online learning aims to reduce studentsโ€™ exposure to extreme heat while ensuring the continuity of classes and school operations.

Students are advised to stay indoors, drink plenty of water, remain in cool or well-ventilated areas, and avoid unnecessary outdoor travel.

The School Administration will issue further announcements if there are changes to the current arrangement, and students and personnel are advised to monitor official school channels for updates.

๐Ÿ“ข ADVISORY | EXTREME HEAT CONDITIONS

Following the response to the City Mayorโ€™s advisory on extreme heat conditions, Basic Education classes will be conducted online until further notice.

For College Department:
College classes and academic activities will continue face-to-face as scheduled.

For Basic Education:
Teachers shall report to school and conduct their online classes from their designated areas.

For Administrative Personnel:
Administrative personnel shall continue to report to school as scheduled.

This measure is implemented to ensure the safety and well-being of our learners and personnel while maintaining academic continuity.

Please be guided accordingly.
