Mirafuentes—a New York City Faculty, USA—for sharing his incredible expertise during the 1st Project LANE Capacity Building Program.

​Anchored on the theme, "Leading to Learn, Learning to Lead: Strengthening Literacy and Numeracy," the program was a massive success. With over 20 years of educational experience across the Philippines and the United States, Dr. Mirafuentes brought an unparalleled depth of knowledge to our future educators. As a New York City Special Education teacher, graduate professor, and a 2016 Finalist for the NYC Department of Education's Big Apple Awards, his insights set a new standard of excellence for our student-tutors.
​His mastery of evidence-based teaching, cognitive science, inclusive education, and applied behavior analysis (ABA)—backed by a Ph.D. in Development Education and professional studies from Harvard University Online and the University of British Columbia—has deeply inspired our participants.

The Pre-Board Examination is set to take place on July 28, 2026. As you prepare for this important milestone toward the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT), please review the examination schedule, venue, and important reminders carefully.

All examinees are required to wear the proper attire:

Male: Tucked-in white polo shirt with collar (without seal or logo) and comfortable slacks or decent pants.

Female: Tucked-in white blouse or shirt with collar (without seal or logo), comfortable slacks or decent pants, with hair properly clipped or tied back.

Please report to the venue at least 30 minutes before the examination, bring your valid school ID, pencil, and black ballpen, and strictly observe all examination rules and procedures. We wish all future educators the very best—approach the examination with confidence, determination, and excellence. Good luck!

On July 20, 2026, the College of Education Student Council (COEd SC), represented by COEd SC Governor Hon. Albert James A. Tesara, participated in a Strategic Partnership Meeting with Dr. Roy Mirafuentes and the faculty of the College of Education headed by the Dean of College of Education Dr. AL-Dean Genovia for 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐄 (𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭). Also in attendance was Hon. Ronald Singuit, former Governor of the COEd Student Council.

The meeting focused on providing books and other learning resources for the College of Education, with the college set to submit a list of its priority resource needs. Discussions also highlighted the upcoming Capacity-Building Program, which aims to equip participants with effective teaching strategies and maximize the utilization of learning materials. Moreover, the partnership includes plans to establish a library for the recipients of Project LANE, creating a sustainable learning space that will benefit future educators, faculty members, and the entire academic community.

As Project LANE continues to build meaningful partnerships, the College of Education remains committed to promoting literacy and numeracy, empowering future educators, and creating lasting opportunities.
