MSU-ZS STUDENT RESEARCHERS SHOWCASE SEAWEED RESEARCH AT AANR R&D SYMPOSIUM

Mindanao State University–Zamboanga Sibugay (MSU-ZS) proudly participated in the Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources (AANR) Research and Development Symposium for Undergraduate and Senior High School Students held on August 13, 2026, at Jose Rizal Memorial State University–Dipolog Campus.

Representing the University were student researchers from the Department of Fisheries, College of Agriculture and Fisheries — Jason B. Acana and Rosel Jean M. Ojeda — who presented their study entitled:

“Growth and Survival of Kappaphycus alvarezii in Deep-Sea and Traditional Farming Systems in Silingan, Roseller T. Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay.”

The study was selected for presentation under the Undergraduate Research Paper Presentation Category, highlighting MSU-ZS’s continuing efforts to advance student-led research that addresses locally relevant issues in fisheries, aquaculture, and sustainable coastal livelihoods.

The student researchers were guided by their faculty adviser, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Floriefe G. Torino, of the College of Agriculture and Fisheries.

Through participation in regional scientific platforms such as the AANR R&D Symposium, MSU-ZS continues to foster a culture of research, innovation, and knowledge sharing, while providing its students opportunities to contribute meaningful solutions to the needs of communities and industries in the region.

Congratulations to Asso.Prof.Angelito A.Rendiza, a faculty member of the College of Education for co-authoring a paper titled “Spectral Determination of Generalized Corona Graphs” which was published in Volume 21, Issue No. 3 of International Journal of Mathematics and Computer Studies, a Scopus-indexed journal!

This achievement reflects his dedication to research, scholarly excellence, and commitment to advancing knowledge in your field. This publication is truly commendable and serves as an inspiration to our academic community. We proudly welcome Aldin Paul S. Genovia, Ed.D., JD, Dean of the College of Education at Mindanao State University – Zamboanga Sibugay, to the ERIO community!

Dr. Genovia is a distinguished Licensed Professional Teacher (LPT), educator, legal professional, researcher, and academic leader currently serving as the Dean of the College of Education at Mindanao State University – Zamboanga Sibugay. With a career dedicated to educational excellence, leadership, and public service, he has made significant contributions to both basic and higher education.

He earned his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) and Juris Doctor (JD), reflecting his interdisciplinary expertise in education, leadership, governance, and the law. As a professor and academic administrator, Dr. Genovia is committed to preparing future educators through quality instruction, research, and transformative leadership.

Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Genovia has held several key leadership positions. He previously served as the Officer-in-Charge of the Graduate School, Principal of the MSU-Zamboanga Sibugay Laboratory High School, and School Head Teacher of Bolingan Elementary School, Talusan District, Schools Division of Zamboanga Sibugay. These roles have strengthened his commitment to educational management, institutional development, and learner-centered leadership.

His academic and research interests focus on Inclusive Education, Educational Research, Culture, Educational Policies, and Laws. He advocates for research that promotes equity, diversity, inclusive learning environments, and evidence-based policy development. Through his scholarly work, he seeks to contribute to educational reforms that respond to the needs of learners, educators, and communities.

As a member of ERIO, Dr. Genovia joins a growing network of educators, researchers, academic leaders, and professionals dedicated to advancing research, innovation, collaboration, and lifelong learning. We look forward to his valuable contributions to Educational Leadership, Inclusive Education, Policy Research, Legal Studies in Education, and Educational Innovation.
