The College of Education of Mindanao State University – Zamboanga Sibugay extends its most profound gratitude to our esteemed Collaborating Partner and Resource Speaker, Dr. Roy M. Mirafuentes—a New York City Faculty, USA—for sharing his incredible expertise during the 1st Project LANE Capacity Building Program.
Anchored on the theme, "Leading to Learn, Learning to Lead: Strengthening Literacy and Numeracy," the program was a massive success. With over 20 years of educational experience across the Philippines and the United States, Dr. Mirafuentes brought an unparalleled depth of knowledge to our future educators. As a New York City Special Education teacher, graduate professor, and a 2016 Finalist for the NYC Department of Education's Big Apple Awards, his insights set a new standard of excellence for our student-tutors.
His mastery of evidence-based teaching, cognitive science, inclusive education, and applied behavior analysis (ABA)—backed by a Ph.D. in Development Education and professional studies from Harvard University Online and the University of British Columbia—has deeply inspired our participants.
