𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐨, 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞

The Department of Social Work, headed by Chairperson Dr. Desiree F. Gonzales, together with Donalie G. Gesta, RSW (OJT Coordinator), and Nico Jan D. Bautista, RSW (School Field Instructor), conducted a field monitoring activity last March 30–31, 2026 for social work students deployed in the Municipality of Malimono.

This initiative is part of the Department’s continuing efforts to uphold the quality and integrity of field instruction. Through close supervision and professional guidance, the activity ensures that student interns are effectively supported as they engage in community-based practice and service delivery.

The Department extends its sincere appreciation to the Local Government of Malimono for its steadfast support and collaboration, especially to Hon. Arnel S. Amalla, EE, EnP, Municipal Mayor, for his exemplary leadership in the municipality. To Ms. Sarah Jane M. Moreño, RSW, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer, sincere thanks for her constant guidance and professional supervision of the social work interns. Likewise, to Mr. Florio M. Geronda, LPT, Human Resource Management Officer, gratitude is extended for assisting the students in learning agency policies and administrative functions. Their partnership and dedication play a vital role in enriching experiential learning and strengthening the professional formation of future social workers.

The Department remains committed to cultivating strong institutional partnerships and advancing excellence in social work education through responsive, community-engaged field practice.

The 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 once again rises to the pinnacle of excellence, claiming the 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗚 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, securing a remarkable 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗹𝗮𝗺 victory that echoes the department’s unwavering commitment to excellence.

For three days, INDIG was more than a celebration of competition. It became a space of sleepless nights, quiet sacrifices, and unwavering determination. Behind every performance were tired eyes that chose to stay, weary bodies that refused to give up, and hearts that beat as one despite the pressure. In moments of doubt, they chose to stand. In moments of exhaustion, they chose to fight. And in every moment, they chose each other.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘃𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. 𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱.

None of this would have been possible without the collective strength of the Social Work family, the ever supportive faculty led by 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐅. 𝐆𝐨𝐧𝐳𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬, 𝐏𝐡𝐃, and the passionate students led by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐳 𝐑. 𝐘𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐝, whose leadership ignited purpose in every member.

In the end, it was never just about bringing home the crown. It was about proving that together, Social Work does not just rise. 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗼, 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗽𝘆𝗼, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗶𝘀𝘆𝗼, 𝗶𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀, 𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘀.
