Teachers play an important role in shaping how learners understand the world around them. In the field of Social Work, their guidance goes beyond teaching theories and concepts. It helps students understand people, respond to social realities, and recognize the importance of dignity, rights, empowerment, and social justice.

Through every theory discussed, case examined, perspective explored, and experience shared, students are guided to look beyond individual circumstances and understand the systems, communities, and social conditions that shape people’s lives. These lessons help develop not only professional competence but also empathy, critical thinking, ethical responsibility, and a commitment to social justice.

On Teachers’ Day, we recognize those who dedicate their knowledge, time, and experience to preparing learners for a profession grounded in compassion, advocacy, empowerment, and service. Through their commitment to education, they help shape individuals who are prepared to stand with people and communities in addressing challenges and creating possibilities for change.

Adding to this momentous achievement are our 𝗦𝗪𝗟𝗘 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗧𝗢𝗣𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗦, with five outstanding achievers making their mark among the highest-performing examinees nationwide. A meaningful send-off was held last September 9 for our 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗟𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗦𝗪𝗟𝗘) 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀, bringing together the 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 and students who came together to extend their support and encouragement to our examinees.

More than a send-off, the gathering served as a reminder that behind every SWLE taker is a community that recognizes their dedication, sacrifices, and perseverance. It was a celebration of the journey they had undertaken and a reflection of the collective hopes and support that accompanied them along the way.

Now that the examination period of the 𝗦𝗪𝗟𝗘 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 has concluded last September 11, our 117 SWLE takers together with the whole CSU-Social Work community enter a period of anticipation as they await the results of the examination. As they look ahead to this next chapter, may they find comfort in knowing that their efforts have been witnessed, their perseverance recognized, and their journey supported by the department.

To our SWLE takers, may you look back on this journey with pride, knowing that you have given your best and made it this far through determination and perseverance. As you await the results, may you continue to carry with you the prayers, encouragement, and hopes of the entire CSU-Social Work community.

LOOK | Following the conclusion of the three-day 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗟𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗦𝗪𝗟𝗘) 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, our examinees gathered with the faculty members and students of the Department of Social Work for a meaningful Solidarity Lunch.

The gathering provided an opportunity for everyone to come together, share a meal, and celebrate the completion of an important milestone in the journey of our seniors toward becoming Registered Social Workers.

More than a celebration, the solidarity lunch was a simple expression of the department’s support and appreciation for our examinees, whose dedication, perseverance, and hard work brought them to this point. It was a moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate the journey they have taken together.

The Department of Social Work would also like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the alumni of the CSU Social Work Department, Batch 2021–2025, for their generous sponsorship and support for this event. Your continued support and thoughtfulness toward the next generation of social workers are sincerely appreciated and have contributed to making this gathering a meaningful celebration of our examinees’ journey.
