𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The Caraga Health Research and Development Consortium (CHRDC) successfully conducted the 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗘𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗧) on May 5–6, 2026 at Go Hotels, bringing together researchers and stakeholders from member institutions including Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU), Adela Serra Ty Memorial Medical Center (ASTMMC), Caraga State University (CSU), Caraga Regional Hospital (CRH), and the Surigao Education Center (SEC).

The training was facilitated by the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB-CIDTA) trainers, Dr. Carl Abelardo T. Antonio and Ms. Sherille A. Orejudos, who guided participants through key concepts on ethical principles, research oversight, informed consent, risk–benefit assessment, and governance in research.

One of the key goals of this training is to further support and assist member institutions in establishing their own Research Ethics Committees (RECs), ensuring that research conducted in the region adheres to ethical standards and safeguards the welfare of research participants.

This initiative reinforces CHRDC’s commitment to promoting a culture of ethical research and ensuring the protection and welfare of research participants across the region.

The Caraga Health Research and Development Consortium (CHRDC) successfully conducted the training-workshop entitled “𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦”on April 22–23, 2026 at Almont Inland Resort, Butuan City.

The two-day activity brought together researchers, faculty members, and health professionals across the Caraga Region to enhance their knowledge and skills in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into health research. Also, featured interactive workshop sessions focused on proposal development, pitching, storytelling, and presentation, enabling participants to apply AI tools and strategies in refining their research proposals.
