โ FSUU COL Kicks Off A.Y. 2026โ2027 with Back-to-Back Law School Seminar and General Assembly
The Father Saturnino Urios University College of Law officially opened the academic year with back-to-back events โ a Law School Survival Seminar and the collegeโs General Assembly, last July 25, 2026.
The Survival Seminar held in the morning featured a talk entitled โSurviving Law Schoolโ from our keynote speaker, Atty. Angelo E. Cupay, CPA, who emphasized that success in the Bar Exam begins on Day 1 of your law school journey.
In the afternoon, Dean Rodney C. Ato warmly welcomed the student body to the General Assembly and later introduced essential updates to the Collegeโs Academic and Retention Policies. Consejo President Rey C. Ramonal then presented the Consejo de Legis Officers of A.Y. 26โ-27โ and held a short discussion on the Ratification of By-Laws.
The highlights of the afternoon include the ULAP Orientation by Atty. Marjorie Leigh Montero-Llano, who reminded students of their duty to embody the core Urian Values when dealing with conflicts in life and in law. This was followed by the orientation on school facilities and policies from different FSUU offices.
The assembly was then capped off by an update on the COL Bar Operations and the presentation of the academic yearโs official calendar of activities.
Ultimately, the double-header event set a powerful and unified tone for the months ahead. Armed with guidance from the faculty, leadership from the Consejo, and a clear roadmap for the months ahead, the FSUU College of Law community stands ready to meet the demands of the legal profession with academic rigor and Urian excellence.

In a showing of wholehearted support, the FSUU College of Law offered a solemn Mass for the FSUU Law 2026 Bar Takers, presided by Rev. Fr. Joseph Alner Y. Garrido, this Monday, July 6, at the St. Aloysius Chapel. The Mass was followed by a blessing and distribution of the bar kits to the examinees. Also present at this turnover was Dean Rodney C. Ato and the Consejo de Legis Officers.

The FSUU College of Law, led by the Consejo de Legis Officers for the new academic year, conducted FROM ONE DAY TO DAY ONE: An Orientation and Campus Tour for the first-year students and transferees of the college, last June 29, 2026.
The programโs main objectives were to present the collegeโs resources and support services through a guided campus tour, to impart essential information and pointers to help set expectations in law school, and to conduct the election of the first-year representative.
After the guided tour, Atty. Dan Abesamis opened the program with words of wisdom and encouragement, followed by a talk on Law School Tips and Tricks by Consejo Executive Vice-President Mr. James Robert Autor, then a closing message and open forum lead by Consejo President Mr. Rey Ramonal.

The Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU) College of Law held its Annual Faculty Assembly on June 29, 2026, at the CBE Board Room.
A highlight of the event was a specialized session on Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) syllabus preparation, led by Atty. Josefe Sorrera-Ty, former Legal Education Board (LEB) Commissioner and former Dean of the FSUU College of Law.
Atty. Rodney C. Ato, Dean of the College of Law, opened the assembly by emphasizing its core rationale and aligning the faculty orientation objectives. Dean Ato also presented a comprehensive report detailing recent activities and accomplishments, updates on LEB Memorandums and Circulars, and prevailing University Policies.
The assembly brought faculty together for open dialogue and teamwork, all geared toward improving legal education and academic services in the year ahead.
