[EXTENSION] The Department of Mathematics of Caraga State University, through its extension project, Understanding Pure Mathematics: Resource and Innovation Sharing for Engagement (UP-RISE), successfully conducted the Workshop on the Development of Instructional Materials for Mathematics in the Modern World (MMW) among Higher Education Institutions in the Caraga Region on August 27โ€“28, 2026, at the KIH Conference Room, Caraga State University.

The two-day workshop brought together mathematics educators from partner Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across the Caraga Region to collaboratively review, enhance, and develop unified and activity-based instructional materials for Mathematics in the Modern World.

More than just a workshop, the activity served as a meaningful platform for sharing expertise, exchanging innovative ideas, and strengthening collaboration among mathematics educators. Through this collective effort, the participants reaffirmed their shared commitment to enriching mathematics instruction and creating more engaging and meaningful learning experiences for students.

Together, we continue to innovate, collaborate, and rise for better mathematics education across the region.

Two faculty members from the Department of Mathematics, Caraga State University (CSU)โ€”Dr. Angela Fel P. Gamalo and Dr. Breix Michael G. Aguaโ€”served as Resource Persons for the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur during the Capacity Development on Data Processing, Visualization, and Analysis, held at the Provincial Learning Center, Gov. D.O. Plaza Government Center, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, as part of the four-day training conducted on 25โ€“28 August 2026.

Dr. Gamalo and Dr. Agua facilitated the sessions on the 3rd day of the activity. The sessions are designed to strengthen the participantsโ€™ competencies in data management, statistical analysis, and evidence-based planning.

The participants included representatives from the cities and municipalities of Agusan del Sur, who were equipped with practical skills in handling, analyzing, and interpreting data to support informed planning and decision-making.
