🌟 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐔𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐢 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒! 🌟

Every year, Gawad Kalinga celebrates the heroism of the Filipino spirit with the Bayani Challenge, running from June 12 to August 25. This year, with the theme “Tataya Para Sa Bayan”, events will be held across nine Gawad Kalinga regional areas.

The main objective of the Bayani Challenge is to contribute to the leadership development of participants, particularly in deepening our commitment to addressing poverty in our country. Gawad Kalinga hopes that through this challenge, more Filipinos will take an active and selfless stance in uplifting the lives of the poor and marginalized in our barangays and municipalities/cities.

In the Caraga Region, Butuan City has been designated as one of the locations for the Bayani Challenge 2024. 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟎 𝐭𝐨 𝟏𝟒 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐫𝐠𝐲. 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐁𝐫𝐠𝐲. 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐲, 𝐁𝐫𝐠𝐲. 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐛𝐮, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐫𝐠𝐲. 𝐋𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧.

On Friday, March 8, 2024 the National Nutrition Council Caraga Branch (NNC) hosted the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Youth Network Meeting and Organization, in which Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU) was represented by the Secretary of Information, Gabrielle Villacencio and the Executive Council Sports Coordinator-Indoor, Mike Brown Gulde.

The SUN Summit discussed several key concepts dedicated to the raising of the nutritional standards of Caraga, the fulfillment of which necessitated the presence of the youth from various organizations and institutions in the region.

During the course of the meeting, Ms. Villacencio was formally elected by the attendees of the summit as the Public Information Officer of the SUN Youth Network, which aims for opportunities of convention in the future to better find avenues toward the success of the NCC's goals in facilitating the SUN Movement.

Saturday, March 2, 2024, the Department of Information (DOI) held the 3rd Information Council Meeting with various program PIOs in attendance. The meeting marked Gabrielle Villacencio's first introduction to the attending PIOs since her appointment as Secretary of Information on February 17, 2024.

Following this, Miss Villacencio gave a prompt notice on the update of the former Office of the Secretary of Information name to the "Department of Information" after the appointment of new members of the office, where the OSOI only constituted the Secretary of Information solely. A logo change was also mentioned by Miss Villacencio to reflect the new nature of the new Department of Information.

The Secretary's first agenda had the attending PIOs provide updates on the state of affairs of their respective programs; she then discussed with the PIOs a range of practices that the Information Council ought to practice to improve efficiency with information dissemination and internal communication.

The attending PIOs then divulged their respective programs' objectives for the rest of the semester, citing plans for their individual program days which have already gone underway, with pre-games for the sports events and other such preparations.

The 3rd Information Council ended with a newfound resolve of the PIOs to improve their craft, as it continues an excellence of service to the studentry of Father Saturnino Urios University.
