ACLC College of Butuan recognizes that students from its Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program successfully presented their research paper at an international conference.

Students Daisy Lou S. Montante, Erica P. Nanales, and June Ralph Ervie C. Aton, together with their co-author Zoren E. Bajao, showcased their study entitled “𝘋𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘦𝘭𝘧-𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘮 𝘙𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘛𝘦𝘹𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘙𝘦𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘌𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘈 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘌𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯” during the 23𝘳𝘥 𝘐𝘌𝘌𝘌 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘈𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 (𝘐𝘌𝘌𝘌-𝘐𝘊𝘊𝘈 2026), held at the 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘠𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘰𝘯, 𝘔𝘺𝘢𝘯𝘮𝘢𝘳. The paper is currently awaiting publication and will be included in the IEEE ICCA 2026 conference proceedings.

The study was authored by Andre R. Ligalig, Dinah Lyn M. Pelimer, and Norien Gaye Villanueva, with co-authors Lord Ian M. Paquiao and Daryll A. Cabagay.

The research explores the use of technology in enhancing Butuanon cuisine through ingredient recognition, contributing to the application of machine learning in cultural and culinary innovation.

The paper will be included in the official proceedings of the IEEE International Conference on Machine Learning and Autonomous Systems (ICMLAS 2026), highlighting the participation of ACLC College of Butuan student researchers in international academic platforms.

The research paper was authored by Bryan Peter P. Bacaling, Bryce A. Corvera, and James Ellison C. Lopez, with co-authors Mr. Joshua A. Caalim, Mr. Gerardo S. Carlos, and Mr. Jamel D. Pandiin.

The paper introduces an Android-based augmented reality application designed to improve the learning of periodic elements through interactive and visual engagement, providing a more effective approach to understanding complex scientific concepts.

Its publication in an international peer-reviewed journal highlights the quality of student research and strengthens the institution’s presence in the field of information technology.
