𝗪𝗲’𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗼 𝗗. 𝗡𝗮𝘇𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗼!🥇🎓

In the name of success, truly, we all have different measures and timelines. Success can look like carrying the heaviest medals, and for many, success can look like proudly saying to their parents, “Ma, Pa, graduate nako!”

But for Nicko, success isn’t about being the best. it is about being better than the person you were yesterday. It is about continuously growing at your own pace, and being proud of how far you’ve come, while still allowing yourself to remain teachable..while still allowing yourself to have room for even greater growth.

From junior high to senior high, we have grown through seasons of learning, struggle, and becoming. And now, we stand at the edge of something greater..A stepping stone toward adulthood, toward purpose, and toward the dreams we once only dared to imagine.

As we take this next step, may we carry not just our knowledge, but the values we’ve lived by, freedom, justice, and integrity. Because beyond the titles and achievements, it is who we have become that will shape where we are going.

Puso na 𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙥 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝙨𝙖 𝙠𝙖𝙥𝙬𝙖.

Gawad Galing Humanista is meant for those who truly embody the qualities of a Humanista. Qualities that don’t need to be extraordinary to be seen. Qualities that don’t need titles or awards to be validated, but are simply reflected in who they are.

We all have a story, and as a strand that studies humanity and the social sciences, we want to know yours. We see you.

As we’re down to 𝟐 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧,

Back in 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟎, when the organization was still known as 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐬 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚, the first HUMSS officers had a clear goal to create something 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.

They also planned an initiative, 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒖𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒏, that would include different activities leading up to graduation, and part of that plan was to create the Sidlak Song as their theme.

However, when the pandemic came, the situation changed and the plans were put on hold. Even so, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝, 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫.

This is a legacy we are proud of, and one we choose to commemorate and reflect on as we take our final steps in our beloved organization.

We hold on to the belief that even if this organization may no longer stand in the future, the light our seniors carried will not fade. It was passed on to us, and now we pass it on to you. Because service does not end as long as there are people willing to continue and uphold it.

And maybe, in time, it might just rise again.
