𝗖𝗖𝗜𝗦 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗘𝗚𝗦 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗜𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗮𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗛𝗔 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 | 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

The College of Computing and Information Sciences, together with the College of Engineering and Geo-Sciences of Caraga State University (CSU) hosted the 4th International Conference on Computing and Information Sciences (CISCON 2025), a sub-conference of the LIKHA Summit 2025 (Scitech4Dev). With the theme “Innovating for Impact: Computing and Engineering for Smarter, Inclusive Societies,” the event gathered researchers, academics, industry leaders, and students to exchange ideas and present innovations that highlight the role of technology in addressing global and societal challenges.

The Conference was officially opened by Dr. Vicente A. Pitogo, Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Pitogo underscored CSU’s LIKHA agenda, rooted in the Filipino word “likha” or “to create,” as a call to harness knowledge and creativity for development.

Three internationally recognized experts delivered plenary talks. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗟𝗮𝗳𝗶𝗳𝗮 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗹 of the University of Dhaka discussed “Innovating Healthcare Through Medical Robotics and Smart Systems,” showing how robotics can transform healthcare. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗹𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗿 of the University of Hohenheim spoke on “AI Governance Education for Inclusive Societies,” emphasizing the ethical and educational demands of artificial intelligence. 𝗥𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝗵, Founder and CEO of Edufied and FilPass, presented “Blockchain Beyond Crypto for Trust in Education and Society,” highlighting the promise of blockchain for transparency in education and governance.

A Fireside Chat with the plenary speakers allowed participants to explore further the opportunities and challenges of these emerging technologies, while parallel sessions showcased research across four tracks: Intelligent Systems and Data-Driven Science; Information Systems, Digital Innovation, and Technopreneurship; Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources; and Methods and Systems Development in Engineering.

Outstanding research was recognized through the Best Presentation Awards, which went to 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗼 (Track 1), 𝗝𝗮𝘆𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 (Track 2), 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗴𝗮𝗮 (Track 3), and 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗼𝘁 (Track 4).

CISCON 2025 demonstrated CSU’s commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration in Mindanao and beyond. As part of the LIKHA Summit, it reaffirmed the power of research and technology in shaping smarter, more inclusive societies for the future.

𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐫
A researcher and lecturer at the University of Hohenheim, Germany, Dr. Bleher specializes in financial econometrics, data science, and artificial intelligence. His work explores high-frequency financial markets, inflation forecasting using unconventional data sources, and methodological advances in econometrics.

𝐃𝐫. 𝐋𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐟𝐚 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐥
Dr. Jamal’s research spans Robotics and Intelligent Systems, VLSI Design and Reversible Logic Synthesis, and Gender and Diversity in STEM. She has authored numerous publications in top-tier journals and conferences, earning global recognition, including a Best Paper Award. Her invited talks have reached audiences in Spain, the USA, South Korea, China, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Malaysia.

𝐑𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐡
Founder of BEfied (formerly Edufied) and FilPass, Ryan is a seasoned entrepreneur with 20+ years in education and tech. His platforms have earned regional accolades, including HolonIQ’s Top 50 EdTech Startups and the PLDT-SMART Innovation Challenge. A blockchain advocate and mentor, he regularly speaks for DICT and DOST, driving adoption of tamper-proof technologies that foster trust and transparency.

We’re thrilled to announce two distinguished thought leaders who will be headlining CISCON 2025:
