A successful one-day LEPT-Focused English Language Education In-House Review was held on May 6, 2026, at the H.E.R.O Learning Commons Auditorium.

Reinforcing core concepts in English language education. Simulating licensure readiness through a Mock Board Examination. Strengthening unity and collaboration among future educators.

ENGsayo 2026 stands as a testament to initiative, resilience, and collective preparation, empowering graduating pre-service English teachers to face the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers with competence and confidence.

ENGsayo 2026 is more than a review; it is a testament to the resilience, initiative, and unity of future educators. As we move closer to the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers, may this experience remind us that success is not only measured by knowledge, but by the courage to persevere, the discipline to prepare, and the confidence to rise. In a final push toward licensure readiness, the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English (BSEd-English) 4th Year students, spearheaded by 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐞 𝐃. 𝐀𝐥𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐨 and facilitated by the 𝐂𝐒𝐔-𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 (𝐂𝐒𝐔-𝐄𝐄𝐒𝐒), successfully launched 𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐨 2026: 𝐋𝐄𝐏𝐓-𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐧-𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 last May 6, 2026, at the H.E.R.O Learning Commons Auditorium.

This one-day academic initiative was designed to equip graduating pre-service English teachers with targeted reinforcement on core concepts in English language education, while sharpening their test-taking strategies for the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT).

Opening the program, 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗼 𝗟. 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮, 𝗜𝗿., 𝗘𝗱𝗗 of the College of Education underscored the importance of early and intentional preparation, reminding participants that success in the LEPT is built not only on content mastery but also on discipline, consistency, and the right mindset.

The event was enriched by the presence of distinguished alumni and resource speakers:

𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗦. 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗽𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗮𝗻, 𝐋𝐏𝐓 pioneering alumnus and September 2025 LEPT passer, delivered the first review session “𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐄𝐏𝐓: 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬.” He shared practical approaches to studying, managing time, and navigating exam pressures, followed by practice tests that allowed participants to apply the strategies immediately.

𝐈𝐯𝐲 𝐈. 𝐘𝐛𝐚ñ𝐞𝐳, 𝐋𝐏𝐓 inspired the audience with her talk “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐄𝐏𝐓 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐏𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫: 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬.” She candidly shared her personal journey toward licensure, offering motivation and a realistic perspective on the perseverance required to succeed.

𝐕𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏. 𝐌𝐢𝐞𝐫, 𝐋𝐏𝐓 facilitated the second review session “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬: 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐄𝐏𝐓.” His discussion emphasized psychological preparedness, confidence-building, and stress management as critical factors in exam performance.

To simulate actual testing conditions, the committee administered a Mock Board Examination, giving participants a hands-on experience of the LEPT environment and enabling them to assess their readiness. An open forum and reflection segment followed, where alumni speakers engaged participants in meaningful discussions and addressed their questions.

Concluding the event, 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐞 𝐃. 𝐀𝐥𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐨 emphasized the value of collective effort and proactive preparation, reaffirming the initiative’s goal of empowering future educators to face the licensure examination with competence and confidence.

ENGsayo 2026 stands as a testament to the leadership of the graduating class, with the EESS serving as a supportive facilitator in a collaborative stride toward excellence, resilience, and the shared vision of producing competent, compassionate, and future-ready educators.
