The ๐ข๐ป-๐๐ต๐ฒ-๐๐ผ๐ฏ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด (๐ข๐๐ง) of ๐ฎ๐ฏ ๐๐ฆ ๐๐ฒ๐ผ๐น๐ผ๐ด๐ ๐๐๐๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ from Caraga State University commenced across various government agencies, research institutions, and industry partners, providing students with meaningful opportunities to apply classroom knowledge in professional geoscience settings. While most student trainees have successfully completed their OJT, others continue to undergo specialized training in research institutions.
Stationed at the Caraga State University Main Campus, four (4) BS Geology students successfully completed their On-the-Job Training (OJT) at the ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ด๐ฎ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ฒ๐ผ-๐๐ป๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ (๐๐๐๐ฒ๐ผ), while another four (4) students completed their training at the ๐ ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฒ๐ผ๐๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ (๐ ๐๐) ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ด๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ข๐ณ๐ณ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ซ๐๐๐. These institutions provided valuable exposure to Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, spatial data analysis, geological mapping, mineral resource assessment, geohazard evaluation, and environmental geoscience. Through these experiences, the student trainees strengthened their technical competencies and gained practical skills in geospatial technologies and government-led geoscience programs that support disaster risk reduction, environmental planning, sustainable resource management, and scientific research.
Similarly, eight ( 8 ) BS Geology students successfully completed their On-the-Job Training (OJT) at Their training provided hands-on experience in mineral exploration, core logging, mine geology, mineral processing, geological research, laboratory analyses, and responsible mining operations. Through these industry- and research-based placements, the students developed essential technical competencies, analytical skills, and professional experience while gaining a deeper appreciation for responsible and sustainable mineral resource development.
Currently, two ( 2 ) BS Geology students continue to undergo their On-the-Job Training (OJT) at the๐จ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐ป๐๐๐ถ๐๐๐๐ฒ (๐จ๐ฃ๐ฅ๐). Their ongoing training focuses on disaster resilience, geospatial analysis, and disaster risk reduction, enabling them to appreciate the vital role of geoscience in building safer, more resilient, and sustainable communities.
Meanwhile, eight ( 8 ) BS Geology students also continue to undergo their On-the-Job Training (OJT) at the Their specialized training provides advanced exposure to geological research, laboratory techniques, petrographic analysis, and other scientific investigations under the mentorship of leading geoscientists, further enhancing their research capabilities, technical competencies, and professional development.
These On-the-Job Training (OJT) placements continue to bridge classroom learning with real-world geoscience practice by providing students with meaningful opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge, strengthen technical competencies, and gain valuable professional experience. The Department of Geology extends its sincere appreciation to all partner institutions for their continued support and commitment to developing the next generation of competent, ethical, research-oriented, and socially responsible geoscience professionals.

๐๐๐๐ข๐ ๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ฃ:
Learning extended far beyond the classroom as thirty-five (35) incoming third-year BS Geology students of Caraga State University successfully completed their ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐น๐ฑ ๐๐ฒ๐ผ๐น๐ผ๐ด๐ ๐๐ (๐๐๐ข๐ ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ณ) fieldwork from June 24โ30, 2026, across the municipalities of Cagdianao, Dinagat, Basilisa, and San Jose, Dinagat Islands.
Accompanied by five (5) Department of Geology faculty members, four (4) BS Geology student interns, one (1) technical expert from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), and one (1) MGB intern, the students visited selected geological outcrops across the province where they carried out a variety of field activities.
The fieldwork immersed students in a wide range of geological activities, including lithologic and structural mapping, rock and mineral identification, stratigraphic logging, and field data interpretation. Working in diverse geological settings allowed them to strengthen their technical competencies while developing critical thinking, teamwork, problem-solving, and scientific communication skills essential to the practice of geology.
Beyond geological investigations, the students also took part in a tree-planting activity in partnership with the Provincial Government of Dinagat Islands, reinforcing the Department's commitment to environmental stewardship and the promotion of sustainable geoscience practices. The activity served as a reminder that geologists not only study the Earth but also play an active role in protecting and preserving its natural resources for future generations.
