We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Shiela Rae Permanes and Dr. Jan Niño Tinio for accepting our invitation and sharing their valuable researches with the Pisay Caraga faculty and students.
We look forward to seeing more Pisay Caraga scholars venture into reseach in applied mathematics and statistics.
Let’s watch how John Christian S. Rollan of Grade 9–Lithium secured First Place in Magni-Pi by successfully memorizing 330 decimal digits of Pi.
Contestants placed a bid at the beginning of the competition, with some bidding as high as 400 digits. However, several participants were disqualified for failing to correctly recite the number of digits they had bid.
Congratulations, John!

This morning, we had a meaningful start to our Pi Day 2026 celebration through PI-STARS (Pisay Interactive STEM Talent Appreciation and Recruitment for Scholars), where we welcomed selected Grade 5 public school pupils from our community here in Butuan City.
Through interactive games and hands-on activities, our young visitors were able to experience the fun and excitement of mathematics. We hope that this outreach activity has sparked curiosity and inspired them to see mathematics not just as numbers and formulas, but as a field full of discovery and possibilities.
In many ways, Pi Day reminds us that learning, much like π itself, is infinite.

Today we celebrated Pi Day 2026 at the Philippine Science High School – Caraga Region Campus with the theme “Beyond 3.14: Discovering the Power of Pi.”
From welcoming Grade 5 pupils through our PI-STARS outreach program, to engaging scholars in math games, competitions, and interactive activities, the day truly highlighted the beauty, creativity, and excitement of mathematics.
Thank you to our Math teachers, Math Club members, and all participating scholars for making this celebration meaningful and inspiring. Indeed, learning—like π—is infinite.
