ANHS-STEM Mathematics Group Holds First LAC Session on Finite Mathematics 2

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance teaching practices and ensure curriculum alignment, the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Mathematics Group of Agusan National High School (ANHS) conducted its first Learning Action Cell (LAC) session for Finite Mathematics 2 today, July 23, 2025, at the ANHS School-Based Management (SBM) Hub.

Facilitated by Mr. Elmer R. Andebor, STEM Group Head and LAC Leader, the session gathered Senior High School teachers handling Finite Mathematics 2 to collaboratively review content, instructional strategies, and assessment approaches in line with the Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum.

Mrs. Eleanor A. Masul, Assistant Principal for Academics, delivered a brief message highlighting the importance of aligning teaching practices with learning outcomes and promoting the exchange of effective classroom strategies.

Ms. Precious Isabel V. Saludes, LAC Facilitator, presented the rationale and objectives of the session. She emphasized the need to deepen content knowledge, clarify curriculum expectations, and improve instructional planning based on the curriculum guide.

Mr. Jeremiah A. Atenta, serving as the Resource Person, led a technical discussion on the Quarter 1 coverage of Finite Mathematics 2. He focused on unpacking the learning competencies, aligning learning tasks and assessments, and addressing common instructional concerns. The session also provided an opportunity for teachers to share the challenges they have encountered in classroom implementation and to collaboratively identify practical solutions and best practices.

This LAC session reflects the school’s commitment to continuous professional development and curriculum-based instruction. By providing structured opportunities for teacher collaboration, the school ensures that instruction remains consistent, standards-based, and responsive to student needs.

ANHS-STEM Mathematics Group Conducts its 1st LAC Session in General Mathematics

In pursuit of enhancing instructional delivery and promoting academic excellence, the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Mathematics Group of Agusan National High School (ANHS) successfully conducted its first Learning Action Cell (LAC) session focused on “Strengthening Content Knowledge in General Mathematics for Quarter 1” today, July 23, 2025, at ANHS School-Based Management (SBM) Hub.

Spearheaded by Mr. Elmer R. Andebor, STEM Group Head and LAC Leader, the session brought together all teachers handling General Mathematics under the strengthened Senior High School curriculum. This initiative reflects the school’s commitment to continuously capacitate its faculty members with content knowledge and effective teaching strategies aligned with the revised curriculum standards.

The session commenced with the presentation of the rationale and objectives by Ms. Hannah Jean P. Tinio, the LAC Facilitator. She emphasized the session’s objective to deepen content mastery and enhance the alignment of teaching practices with curriculum expectations.

Mr. Jeremiah A. Atenta, the LAC Resource Person, facilitated a comprehensive discussion on the alignment of learning competencies and instructional activities for General Mathematics in Quarter 1. He provided detailed insights into the essential content areas for each topic, highlighting the importance of coherence between intended competencies and actual classroom delivery. He also encouraged the sharing of best practices among participants and clarified concerns related to teaching the subject’s key concepts.

This LAC session is part of the school's efforts to ensure quality instruction under the Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum as one of the pilot implementing schools. Through professional development activities like this, ANHS ensures that its educators are equipped to meet the evolving demands of the curriculum and provide meaningful learning experiences to students.

The session concluded with a strengthened sense of collaboration and shared commitment among General Mathematics teachers, all working toward the common goal of academic excellence in senior high school education.
