On May 26, 2026, the Philippine Science High School - Caraga Region Campus in Butuan City (PSHS-CRC) will honor the outstanding achievements of its graduating scholars in the 𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝘅𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀.

Batch 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘬𝘰𝘣 (Class of 2026) has journeyed with resilience, grit, and shared triumphs. 83 scholars completed the rigorous PSHS special secondary science curriculum.

With the theme, “Navigators of Tomorrow: Innovating with Integrity, Serving with Passion,” the ceremony will be graced by Commencement Speaker Dr. Josette T. Biyo, Former Director of the DOST Science Education Institute (SEI).

I-STEP UP Tulong Dunong: Pisay Caraga Academic Boost and Guidance (ABAG) for NCE

The success of the Pisay Caraga ABAG for the NCE initiative underscores the power of collaboration among stakeholders committed to advancing education. This strong partnership brought together Campus Director Melba C. Patacsil and CID Chief Michelle B. Fernando of the Philippine Science High School–Caraga Regional Campus, alongside the City Government of Butuan led by Mayor Lawrence Lemuel H. Fortun and Hon. Glenn C. Carampatana, Chairman of the Committee on Education. Through the City Education Development Department (CEDD), under the leadership of Sir Rosalito B. Libres, with the support of Ma’am Leonisa J. Otero, Ma’am Emmalyn C. Cahulogan, and Ma’am Judea Marie C. Egay, the initiative effectively harnessed shared expertise and resources to create meaningful and high-impact learning opportunities. The active involvement of Pisay Caraga Academic Unit Heads, faculty, LSB teachers, facilitators, and education leaders ensured a unified and well-coordinated effort in preparing aspiring scholars for the PISAY admission process.

This collaborative endeavor was further strengthened by the unwavering support of local government officials, school leaders, parents, and students. Their collective dedication enabled the smooth implementation, close monitoring, and overall success of the program. Through Pisay Caraga ABAG, this strong synergy between institutions and the community continues to open pathways for academic growth and excellence, affirming that sustained partnerships are essential in developing future-ready learners.

To ensure an orderly and secure conduct of the Lateral Admission Qualifying Examination (LAQE), all parents and guardians are advised to remain at the designated Guardhouse Waiting Area during the examination period.

Please be informed that roaming around the campus premises will not be allowed.

Examinees are instructed to proceed directly to their assigned Computer Laboratories upon arrival and follow the guidance of the assigned personnel.

📌 Important Reminders:
• The examination will strictly start from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN.
• There will be no snack break, so examinees are encouraged to eat their breakfast before the examination.
• No eating inside the computer laboratories.

Antoine Miko A. Dellosa, a Grade 11 scholar of Philippine Science High School - Caraga Region Campus in Butuan City, qualified as one of the Top 20 finalists in Sinag: The Philippine Biology Olympiad (PBO) 2026, held on March 28, at Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU).

Guided by his coach, Sir Jay Maique, the scholar braved the challenge from the elimination round, which began with 725 participants nationwide, was narrowed down to 55 semi-finalists, and finally to the top 20 finalists.

The PBO is a nationwide biology competition for students of grades 7 to 12 and serves as the venue for the selection of the country's representatives to the annual International Biology Olympiad (IBO).

The DOST-Philippine Science High School System (PSHS) is now accepting applications for the National Competitive Examination (NCE) for School Year 2027-2028. If you will be a Grade 6 student for SY 2026-2027 with a strong interest in science and mathematics, this is your opportunity to become a Pisay scholar.

Who can apply?
Eligible applicants must:
✔ Be a Grade 6 student from a DepEd-recognized school (SY 2026-2027)
✔ Have a final grade of 85% or better in Science and Mathematics in the Grade 5 report card (SY 2025-2026), or belong to the top 10% of the batch
✔ Be a Filipino citizen
✔ Be 15 years old or below by June 30, 2027
✔ Have at least a satisfactory character rating
✔ Be in good health and fit for a rigorous academic program
✔ Have not previously applied for admission to PSHS
