Dad, promise me you wonโt get mad if I tell you something.
โ Go ahead, son.
โ No, promise first.
โ Alright, I promise.
โ Today I cried in front of the whole class.
โ Ohโฆ why?
โ The teacher said my work was wrong. I was so sure I did everything right, but I couldnโt hold it in.
โ And youโre afraid Iโll be upset about that?
โ Yeah. My classmates said crying is for weaklings.
โ Listen to me, buddy. There are two things I want you to remember for the rest of your life.
โ Iโm listening, Dad.
โ First: Iโm proud of you.
Crying isnโt weakness โ itโs strength. Only people who truly feel can cry. Youโve got a heart that knows how to love, to care, to hurt. And trust me โ even your friends have cried before. They just didnโt say it out loud. When a tear falls, donโt be ashamed. It washes away pain and clears the soul.
โ And the second thing?
โ Second: making mistakes is okay.
We all mess up โ Mom, me, everyone. What matters isnโt avoiding mistakes but learning from them. You fall, you get up, you try again. Thatโs how people grow.
Iโd never be mad at you for getting something wrong or for crying. In fact, Iโm proud to have a son who isnโt afraid to feel, who isnโt afraid to be human.
Because the ability to cry and the courage to make mistakes โ thatโs real strength. Thatโs the kind of courage that lets you truly live.
Lift your head up, kiddo.
Walk through life with your heart wide open. โค๏ธ
