โBurauen Community College (BCC) successfully culminated its Science and Mathematics Month Celebration on September 30, 2025, at the BCC Multi-Purpose Building with the theme โInnovention: Calculating Ideas, Creating Solutions. The program highlighted the importance of science and mathematics in everyday life and showcased the skills and creativity of BCC students through a series of competitions.

โIn her opening remarks, Ms. Gretchen Patenio, Dean of General Education, emphasized that science and mathematics are more than just academic subjectsโthey are essential parts of daily living.

โFollowing her message, Dr. Jett C. Quebec, College Administrator, delivered an inspirational talk highlighting the importance of the event. He encouraged students to nurture their passion for mathematics and science and to look forward to future opportunities for growth in these fields.

โThe program proceeded with the introduction of judges for the Sci-Math Jingle Making Contest. Ms. Mary Sol Catan, Science Coordinator, formally presented the panel composed of Ms. Hannah Trista D. Cabus, Mr. John Dranreb C. Gerilla, and Mr. Ryan Cardines, LPT. The much-awaited jingle presentations then energized the crowd with creative performances blending music, science, and math concepts.

โAnother exciting highlight of the program was the raffle draw, where slips bearing the names of participating students were randomly selected. The draw added fun and anticipation, with students eagerly waiting for their names to be called.

โThe culmination concluded with the announcement of winners from the various competitions held throughout the celebration.

โRubikโs Cube Competition: BSCrim 329 secured first place after solving the cube in just 20.085 seconds, followed by BSA 102 in second place with 23.575 seconds, and BSCrim 110 in third with 25.045 seconds.
โ
โTangram Competition: BSCrim 303 finished first with 27.535 seconds, ahead of BSMA 202, who completed the challenge in 7 minutes and 29 seconds, and BSCrim 113 in third with 40 minutes and 37 seconds.

โColored Ball Sorting Competition:
โBSCrim 113 emerged as the fastest at 23.57 seconds, followed by BSCrim 303 with 24.635 seconds and BSMA 201 with 25.465 seconds.

โMath Quiz Bee: BSCrim 106 claimed first place, with BSISM 101 and BPA 106 placing second and third respectively.

โScience Poster Making Contest: BSCrim 203 impressed the judges and secured the top spot, followed by BSCrim 205 and BSCrim 213.

โScience Quiz Bee: BSCrim 205 won first place, while BSCrim 207 and BSCrim 203 secured second and third.

โSci-Math Jingle Contest: BSCrim 216 claimed first place, with BSCrim 204 in second and BSMA 304 in third.

The event concluded with a closing remarks from Mr. Epifanio Colabres Jr., Mathematics Unit Coordinator, who expressed his gratitude to the students for the active participation in the Science and Math Month Celebration.
