𝗕𝗖𝗖 𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗦 TWO-DAY CAPACITY-BUILDING COURSE: “𝘋𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘜𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘖𝘗𝘗𝘗𝘚”

𝘈 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱 𝘰𝘯 𝘖𝘋𝘌𝘓, 𝘌𝘛𝘌𝘌𝘈𝘗, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘔𝘪𝘤𝘳𝘰-𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘴

Representatives from the CCJE Department, CBPA Department, together with the College Administrator Dr. Jett Quebec, participated in a two-day capacity-building course, "Designing Lifelong Learning Pathways Using BOPPPS: A Workshop on ODeL, ETEEAP, and Micro-credentials," held at the Radiant Hotel, Tacloban City, on September 9, 2026.

The training brought together faculty and administrators to explore how the BOPPPS instructional model — Bridge-in, Objective, Pre-assessment, Participatory Learning, Post-assessment, and Summary — can be applied to strengthen three key pathways for lifelong learning: Open and Distance e-Learning (ODeL), the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP), and Micro-credentials.

In his keynote message, Dr. Aljibe underscored the significance of lifelong learning in expanding access to quality education, particularly for non-traditional learners and working professionals. He emphasized that ODeL, ETEEAP, and micro-credentialing represent flexible, learner-centered alternatives to traditional degree pathways, and called on Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to actively implement the program within their respective institutions to widen access to education and support continuous upskilling across sectors.

Sessions throughout the two-day course guided participants through the practical integration of BOPPPS into course design for these three pathways — from structuring ODeL modules for remote and flexible learning, to aligning ETEEAP assessment processes with competency-based standards, to designing stackable micro-credential offerings that respond to industry needs.

Participants from BCC engaged in hands-on workshops to draft sample lesson pathways and instructional plans applying BOPPPS principles to their own ODeL, ETEEAP, and micro-credentialing initiatives, with facilitators providing guidance and feedback throughout.

The activity forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen faculty capacity in delivering flexible and inclusive learning pathways, in line with national priorities for expanding access to higher education through alternative and lifelong learning modalities.

𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦: Burauen Community College proudly launched the BURABURON International Multidisciplinary Journal last September 1, 2026, held at MPB, Burauen Community College — a milestone that showcases the college's commitment to research excellence and academic innovation.

Here are the words from our College Administrator during the inauguration of Buraburon:

“To the Architects of Research here present; VP Sheldon Ives Agaton of EVSU, VP Jonas Villas of LNU, VP Santiago Peña Jr. of VSU, and CHED Education Supervisor Engr. Nelly Labrada, your attendance affirms that collaboration strengthens us all. That when institutions work together, the research culture of our entire region grows.

May this launch mark the beginning of a lasting legacy — a legacy of inquiry, of partnership, and of impact. May Buraburon inspire more of our faculty to write, more of our students to ask, and more of our communities to benefit from what we learn.”

Official Announcement from OSAS dated September 1, 2026 (11 PM)

All students planning to attend the BCC'CHELLA are advised to take note of the following security and event guidelines. In observance of strict security protocols, male attendees will not be permitted to bring any bags, while female attendees may only bring transparent bags or small bags/pouches not exceeding 10 inches. Upon gate entrance, please present your COR, Temporary School ID, or School ID for verification.

Once inside, students may proceed to the designated queue for attendance at the basketball court. Attendees are also advised to leave valuables at home, bring their own hydration (only transparent water bottles), and have a heavy meal prior to entry, especially those intending to stay for the duration of the event. Please be reminded that each pass permits only two (2) entries and exits; a third attempt will result in the automatic deletion of the holder's data from the system, and attendees are advised to plan accordingly. Finally, the program will end promptly at 10:00 PM, for those classes with no catering services you may occupy the bleachers and the dancefloor (first come, first serve).

All students are enjoined to arrive on time and to observe proper conduct throughout the event. The floor plan will be posted 2 hours before the event.

For inquiries, please coordinate with the event organizers or the Office of Student Affairs via your class representatives.
