𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗢𝗬 𝗔𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗡𝗢 𝗗𝗔𝗬

Ninoy Aquino chose to return when staying away would have been easier. He took a stand at a time when doing so carried a personal cost, believing that the future of the country was worth standing for.

Decades later, his example leaves us with a question that remains relevant: What does it mean to be a responsible Filipino today?

As a university community, we are called to do more than acquire knowledge. We are called to think critically, engage with truth, care about the communities around us, and use what we learn to contribute meaningfully to society.

The future of the country is not shaped by history alone. It is shaped by what each generation chooses to do with the opportunities and responsibilities it inherits.

On Ninoy Aquino Day, may we reflect not only on what one Filipino dared to do, but on what we, as a generation, are willing to do for the country we share.

240 hours of learning beyond the classroom—and now, they are back home at Agusan del Sur State University (ADSSU).

Through hands-on work, field activities, and learning alongside professionals at NARTDI-DMMMSU, our Agroforestry students return with new skills, fresh perspectives, and experiences that will become part of their academic journey.

Our sincere thanks to the National Apiculture Research, Training and Development Institute (NARTDI) of DMMMSU (DMMMSU-NARTDI Apimonitor) for welcoming our students and being part of their learning experience.

𝗔𝗗𝗦𝗦𝗨 𝗦𝗨𝗕𝗜𝗗𝗔 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲: 𝗔 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀

BUNAWAN, AGUSAN DEL SUR — Agusan del Sur State University (ADSSU) officially welcomed the First Semester of A.Y. 2026–2027 through SUBIDA: General Convocation and University Orientation, held today at the ADSSU Sports and Socio-Cultural Center.

Meaning “ascent” or “climb,” SUBIDA symbolizes the students’ journey toward growth and greater aspirations. The program featured a ceremonial parade from the University’s Main Gate, followed by an orientation on student rights, responsibilities, and the services offered by various University offices.

In the afternoon, the ADSSU Student Government brought students together for an event celebrating camaraderie, school spirit, and college pride.

With SUBIDA, students begin the new academic year equipped with knowledge, guidance, and a stronger sense of belonging in the ADSSU community.

Jelly Ann Apolinario, Magna Cum Laude of Hiraya Batch 2026, reflects on the distinction and responsibility of being among the first graduates of Agusan del Sur State University.

As the pioneer graduates, their achievements will become part of the story and reputation of the University they represent beyond its halls.

Following the lifting of the suspension of classes by the Local Government Unit of Bunawan, classes at Agusan del Sur State University (ADSSU) will resume tomorrow, August 18, 2026.

All academic activities shall likewise resume as scheduled.

This is pursuant to OP Memorandum No. 2026-235.

Students, faculty, and staff are advised to be guided accordingly and prepare for the resumption of regular academic activities.

Take a look back at the highlights of the Honorary Doctorate Degree of Doctor of Agriculture (Honoris Causa) conferred upon Hon. Adolph Edward “Eddiebong” G. Plaza, Representative of the 2nd District of Agusan del Sur during Agusan del Sur State University’s 1st Commencement Exercises.

This conferment marked a historic first in the Philippines, as Hon. Eddiebong Plaza became the first person in the country to receive the Honorary Doctorate Degree of Doctor of Agriculture (Honoris Causa).

A milestone in ADSSU’s history and a significant moment for Philippine agriculture and higher education.

ADVISORY

In accordance with Executive Order No. 20, Series of 2026, issued by the Municipal Mayor of Bunawan, and the announcement of the Local Government Unit of Bunawan, face-to-face classes and other in-person academic activities at the ADSSU Main Campus are hereby suspended until further notice due to the prevailing high heat index and the health and safety risks it poses.

The Subida: General Convocation is also postponed and will be rescheduled to a later date, which will be announced accordingly. However, the Orientation will proceed online today, with further details to be announced separately.

Meanwhile, all classes shall shift to appropriate flexible teaching and learning modalities. Faculty members are directed to ensure the continuous delivery of instruction while taking into consideration the circumstances and well-being of students.

The University reminds everyone to take necessary precautions against heat-related illnesses and to stay updated through ADSSU’s official communication channels for further announcements and advisories.

The health, safety, and welfare of the entire ADSSU Community remain our highest priority.
