Bunawan, Agusan del Sur - On May 23, 2024, the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) organized a Cybersecurity Awareness session led by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Caraga for 4th-year Information Technology and Information Systems students.
Amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the 2024 interns-alumni networking and information-sharing event, students were immersed in the enlightening discussions on cyber threats and defense strategies. Through the engaging talks, the students delved into the world of cybersecurity, equipping themselves with essential knowledge to safeguard their digital space.
This collaborative effort between DICT Caraga and ASSCAT underscores the urgent need for cybersecurity education in the current digital era. By empowering students with practical insights and skills, the session aims to enhance their cyber resilience and contribute to the collective endeavor of securing our digital future.

The College of Computing and Information Sciences Internship Office will be conducting its first Connect-IT: An Interns-Alumni Networking and Information Sharing for the academic year 2023-2024 on May 23, 2024 at the Digital Transformation Center, ASSCAT, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur.

The CCIS Connect-IT program seeks to establish a robust network among alumni and current students within the College of Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS). This initiative is rooted in the recognition that alumni are valuable assets whose experiences, insights, and connections can greatly benefit both the institution and its students. Strengthening the bond between alumni and their alma mater is essential for the long-term success and sustainability of the college.

This program will provide a platform where Interns can have an initial network for their future professional career through the information sharing of the institutions alumni working in the industry.

The program aims:
1. To foster professional connections, career development and mentorship locally and abroad;
2. To provide information sharing and collaboration; and
3. To elevate alumni engagement, community building and enhancing the collegeโ€™s reputation and impact.

INTERNSHIP DEPLOYMENT ||

The College of Computing and Information Sciences deployed students to Host Training Establishment namely: Municipality of Trento Local Government Unit and some of ASSCAT Offices for academic year 2023-2024. The Interns will be in the field offices for 486 hours to experience on-the-job training.

The College is also gearing to have more Host Training Establishments for the next academic year forging memorandum of agreement with industry partners.

The CCIS Internship Program together with the Municipality of Trento Local Government Unit conducted its PRE-DEPLOYMENT ORIENTATION SEMINAR to provide inputs and orient the student interns on their on-the-job training that will commence on February 26, 2024.
