From the small sitio of SPDA, Poblacion, Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur, a determined young athlete has risen to carry the hopes of the entire BARMM region in billiards.

Guiamadel L. Menia, a native of that humble community, will represent the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) at this year’s Palarong Pambansa, a journey that has become a source of pride and inspiration for his school, province, region, and coaches.

Humble beginnings, steady heart
Guiamadel learned his sport where equipment is improvised—an often substandard cue, and whatever open space the community could spare for practice. His rise from the street of SPDA shows that talent from modest beginnings can compete with the best when paired with discipline, steady training, and community support.

Guiamadel’s journey means more than medals; it’s proof for other children that dreaming big is possible even without fancy gear. May his example inspire more children in SPDA STREET and across Buluan Municipality to keep training, aim for excellence, and play not just for wins but for the honor of their school.

Securing GOLD in the 9-Balls Category and BRONZE in the 8-Balls Category, Guiamadel has not only brought immense pride to our school but has also qualified for Palarong Pambansa—a testament to his unparalleled skill, resilience, and dedication on the felt!
