🌱🧬 YES-O OFFICERS IN ACTION! 🧬🌱

Last Tuesday, the YES-O officers conducted a peer tutoring session on Mitosis for the Grade 7 students. The officers shared their knowledge about the different stages of cell division and explained how mitosis helps living organisms grow and repair their cells. Through simple explanations, examples, and interactive discussions, the students were able to better understand the topic.

The activity aimed to make learning more engaging and easier for the Grade 7 students while also giving YES-O officers the opportunity to practice leadership and service. By guiding and supporting their fellow learners, the officers showed that students can help one another succeed in their studies.

This peer tutoring session is one of the ways YES-O continues to promote collaboration, responsibility, and a love for learning within the school community. Together, we grow not only in knowledge but also in teamwork and leadership.

🌱📱 YES-O Seminar Highlight: Forest App for Productivity 🌳

Last February 27, 2026, the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) conducted a seminar for Grade 7 students introducing the Forest: Focus for Productivity an app designed to help students stay focused while also supporting environmental awareness.

The app works by encouraging users to plant a virtual tree that grows while they stay focused on their tasks. Once the user starts a session, the tree will continue to grow as long as they do not leave the app or open other applications. If the user exits the app, the tree stops growing making it a fun and interactive way to reduce smartphone distractions.

Students were also guided on how to start using the app: simply tap “Start Journey,” plant the tree by dragging it into the soil, and begin a focus session. While waiting, users just need to stay in the app and keep focusing until the tree fully grows. Each successful session rewards users with coins that can unlock different tree species, making the experience more engaging.

What makes this even more meaningful is that the app is connected with Trees for the Future, allowing users to contribute to planting real trees through their focus sessions. This shows students that something as simple as managing screen time can help both their productivity and the environment.

Through this seminar, YES-O hopes to encourage students to develop better focus habits, reduce unnecessary screen time, and become more environmentally aware proving that technology can also be used to grow a greener future. 🌿💚
