People say daughters are easier.
Quieter. Sweeter.
But mine?
She came into this world like a storm wrapped in sunshine.

She challenges me in ways I never saw coming.
She watches everything I do. Mirrors it. Questions it. Pushes it.
And in doing that, she teaches me to be better. To be softer. To be stronger.

She feels everything so deeply.
The joy, pain, love all of it lives right on the surface of her heart.

She’s the tiny voice asking me if I’m okay when she catches a flicker of sadness in my eyes.
She’s the little hands trying to fix the world with stickers and glitter and hugs.

She’s the one who reminds me what it means to be free. To dance barefoot. To sing too loud.
To wear what makes you feel brave.
To cry when it hurts and laugh when it heals.

Raising a daughter isn’t about making her behave.
It’s about holding space for the wild woman she’s becoming.

So how do I do it?
I show up.
I let her see me try and fail and grow.
I let her know that being a girl doesn’t mean shrinking.
It means expanding into whoever you’re meant to be.

Because she wasn’t given to me to stay quiet and small.
She was given to me to rise loud and whole.
And I’m just lucky enough to be beside her while she does.

We deserve a government that builds a future where autistic children thrive. 🧩💙

Do your children a favour: raise them to be okay with not everyone liking them.

Because the truth is, not everyone will. No matter how kind they are, how hard they try, or how much they give — there will always be people who don’t see them clearly, or don’t value what they bring. And that’s not failure. That’s life.

Chasing approval can pull us off course. It can make us shrink, soften our edges, or abandon the parts of ourselves that were never meant to be negotiable.

What matters more is this: raising children with kind hearts, brave souls, and the integrity to live in a way that they themselves can be proud of.

Because at the end of the day, being liked by everyone isn’t the goal. But being able to look in the mirror and like the person staring back? That’s freedom. ❤️
