READING BEYOND BOUNDARIES: STRENGTHENING LITERACY ACROSS LEARNING AREAS
Another meaningful afternoon of learning, collaboration, and professional growth unfolded at Dautil Watkins National High School as our teaching force gathered for the August Monthly Learning Action Cell (LAC) Session on August 19, 2026, after class hours.
Anchored on the theme “Strengthening Literacy Across Learning Areas: Reading Intervention Strategies and Classroom Practices,” the session emphasized a powerful truth: literacy is not confined to one subject—it is the foundation upon which learning in every discipline is built.
The session was thoughtfully facilitated by our School Head, Dr. Veronica M. Sabio, who led the teachers in exploring practical reading intervention strategies and classroom practices that can help every learner become a more confident, capable, and engaged reader. The discussion highlighted the importance of intentional literacy instruction, responsive interventions, meaningful classroom experiences, and the collective responsibility of every teacher in addressing learners’ reading needs.
Adding depth to the professional learning experience, Ma’am Nenia Angelica B. Dario also echoed key learnings from her Division Training on the Revised Grade 9 and 10 Curriculum in Araling Panlipunan, providing valuable insights on curriculum updates and their implications for classroom instruction.
More than a monthly session, this LAC became a space for teachers to learn from one another, reflect on practice, share strategies, and renew their commitment to learner-centered teaching.
At DWNHS, we believe that when teachers continue to learn, learners are given greater opportunities to succeed.
One school. One learning community. One shared commitment: NO LEARNER LEFT BEHIND.
