📚✨ National Book Week Celebration: A Meaningful Wrap-Up ✨📚

The CDSI Library proudly celebrates the success of our National Book Week, made meaningful by the active participation of our Ignatian community. The Book Donation Drive, Movie at the Library, and Book Fair inspired a love for reading, creativity, and learning among students.

A special highlight was the Storytelling Contest, where participants showcased confidence and creativity. Congratulations to the winners and sincere thanks to all who took part.

📖 STORYTELLING CONTEST 📖
For Grades 4, 5, and 6

Ignatians, are you ready to bring stories to life? Join the Storytelling Contest and showcase your creativity, expression, and love for books. One participant per section from grades 4, 5 and 6 will have the chance to share their favorite tale and inspire others with their storytelling skills! ✨📚

Venue: Colegio de San Ignacio Library
Date: November 27, 2025 (Thursday)
Time: Participant English Period

OVERVIEW

A Storytelling Contest will be held to encourage creativity, confidence, and appreciation for literature among students. The contest will feature participants delivering short stories in English, focusing on expression, delivery, and moral lessons. Each participant will be given a maximum of five (5) minutes to perform.

PARTICIPANTS
• Grade School (Grades 4–6): 1 participant per section

CONTEST MECHANICS

• Each participant shall narrate an original or adapted story of their choice.
• The story must be delivered in English.
• The storytelling presentation should not exceed 5 minutes.
• Participants may use simple props, costumes, and background music to enhance their storytelling, but these should not overshadow the narration.
• Participants must memorize their story.
• The story should be age-appropriate and must reflect positive values, creativity, and moral lessons.
• The organizers will provide the sound system, and basic setup for the contest.
• The contest will be held inside the library.
• The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.

Ignatians, get ready for a fun and exciting movie time at the library! Enjoy a child-friendly film that inspires imagination, storytelling, and the love of reading. Sit back, relax, and experience the magic of stories coming to life on screen!🍿📚

ACTIVITY GUIDELINES

•The short movie will be shown at the library during the scheduled library period of Grades 1, 2, and 3.
•Movies to be shown will feature fun, age-appropriate stories with moral lessons.
•Students are expected to observe proper behavior and attentiveness during the movie viewing.
•After the movie, a short discussion or reflection activity may be facilitated by the librarian to reinforce the moral lesson.
•Teachers are encouraged to accompany their classes during the viewing schedule.

You can also engage by purchasing books at our Book Fair to support your love for reading.

• Each class will have a designated time slot for the Book Fair visit.
• Students are encouraged to browse and explore the available books.
• Book purchases are highly encouraged to promote reading
• Students are reminded to observe proper behavior and orderliness during the activity.

Ignatian community, let’s share the gift of reading! Donate a book and help inspire others with new stories, knowledge, and imagination. Your simple act of giving can make a big difference.

ACTIVITY GUIDELINES

•A Book Donation Box labeled “Book Donation Drive: Tulay ang Pagbasa sa Bukas na Puno ng Pag-asa” will be placed near the guard house from November 24–28, 2025.
•Donors may drop off new or gently used books suitable for children, teens, or general readers.
•Donated materials will be checked, sorted, and categorized by the librarians.
•Books that meet the library’s collection criteria will be added to the library holdings.
•Remaining books will be prepared for distribution to the chosen beneficiary community.
