📢 OFFICIAL SCHOOL ADVISORY

Following the earthquake that occurred this afternoon, June 15, 2026, Bernardo D. Carpio National High School immediately activated its emergency preparedness and response protocols in accordance with DepEd disaster risk reduction and management policies.

All learners, teaching personnel, and non-teaching staff were safely evacuated to designated safe areas and properly accounted for. After ensuring the safety and welfare of everyone, all learners were officially dismissed at exactly 5:50 PM and advised to go home.

The school administration continues to coordinate with the concerned authorities and will provide further updates through the school’s official communication channels as necessary.

The safety and well-being of our learners and personnel remain our highest priority.

RESUMPTION OF FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES

In view of Earthquake Update No. 5 issued by the Davao City Government and following the completion of the necessary structural safety assessments, Bernardo D. Carpio National High School is pleased to inform all learners, parents, guardians, teaching and non-teaching personnel that face-to-face classes and regular school operations will RESUME on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

This decision is based on the successful structural inspections conducted by the Office of the City Building Official (OCBO) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), which declared the school's buildings and facilities SAFE FOR OCCUPANCY.

The school administration remains committed to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for everyone. While classes resume, all members of the school community are encouraged to remain vigilant and continue observing earthquake preparedness and safety protocols.

Parents and guardians are advised to remind their children of the proper safety measures and to stay updated through the official communication channels of the school for any further announcements.

In line with the school’s commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of all learners and personnel following the recent earthquake, a structural inspection was conducted early today, June 9, 2026, by the Davao City Engineer’s Office.

Based on the assessment, the school buildings and facilities were declared SAFE for occupancy and use.

Moreover, the school also underwent a separate inspection by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) as part of the government’s continuing efforts to ensure that educational facilities remain structurally sound and safe for the school community.

The school administration expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Davao City Engineer’s Office and the DPWH Inspection Team for their prompt response and invaluable assistance in safeguarding our school.

Bernardo D. Carpio National High School remains steadfast in upholding the safety and well-being of its learners, teaching personnel, and non-teaching staff. In anticipation of possible aftershocks and pending the completion of ongoing structural assessments, government offices in Davao City, including local government offices and national government agencies, shall adopt a work-from-home arrangement tomorrow, June 9, 2026, EXCEPT for offices providing safety and security, health, sanitation, traffic management, social services, and disaster and emergency response services.

The private sector is encouraged to adopt similar arrangements to ensure the welfare and safety of their employees.

Face-to-face classes at all levels in both public and private educational institutions shall remain suspended tomorrow, June 9, 2026, pending the completion of safety inspections.

Educational institutions are encouraged to adopt online or distance learning modalities to ensure the welfare and safety of their students and personnel.
