Pursuant to Republic Act No. 12009, otherwise known as the โ€œNew Government Procurement Act,โ€ and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), particularly Section 53 on the Short-Listing of Consultants, the BAC shall draw up the shortlist from consultants determined to be eligible and qualified in accordance with the prescribed shortlisting requirements.

During the shortlisting conducted on August 18, 2026, the BAC determined that no consultant qualified for inclusion in the shortlist for the above-mentioned procurement project.

Consequently, there are no shortlisted consultants who may proceed to the succeeding procurement activities; hence, the Pre-Bid Conference scheduled on August 21, 2026, and all other related procurement activities are hereby postponed.

Guimaras State University (GSU) has released the official reference design for the new University uniform for students.

The prescribed uniform is required for all first-year students, while its use remains optional for students in higher year levels. Students may purchase or have their uniforms tailored outside the University, provided that the approved design specifications are strictly followed.

For those who wish to view the actual uniform sample, it is available at the Office of Student Development Services (OSDS).

GSU encourages all students to observe the prescribed design to ensure consistency in the University's institutional identity.

Guimaras State University (GSU), through the Intellectual Property Management Office (IPMO), in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology Region VI (DOST VI), marks another milestone under the DOST GIA Project, โ€œIntegrated Innovation Hub System: Advancing Technology, Knowledge Transfer, and Entrepreneurial Growth On-Site and On-the-Move.โ€

On August 17, 2026, the Utility Van intended for the Mobile Innovation Hub (Mobile iHub) was delivered to Guimaras State University, bringing the project one step closer to its vision of making science, technology, and innovation more accessible to underserved communities and remote and geographically disadvantaged areas (GIDAs) across Guimaras.

The vehicle was formally received by Dr. Lilian Diana B. Parreรฑo, GSU President, together with Dr. Julius Vergara, Dr. Ann Lyn Tumapang, and Dr. Erly Martir, signifying the Universityโ€™s strong institutional support for advancing innovation and extending its services beyond the campus.

The Mobile iHub will be equipped with portable ICT tools and learning resources and will undergo pilot testing in a target community before its subsequent deployment to selected schools and communities. Among the activities envisioned are scholarship campaigns, STI-related training sessions, and promotional events for MSMEs and startups.

This milestone is made possible through the collective efforts of Dr. Frenz Rian G. Gal, Project Leader, the Project Team, Technical Working Group (TWG), and GSU personnel who supported the implementation of the project, in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology Region VI through the DOST Guimaras Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO), headed by Mr. Daryl Allen F. Asuelo, Provincial Director.

Guimaras State University (GSU), in partnership with the Province of Guimaras, is inviting researchers, academics, and prospective presenters to submit scholarly works for the 3rd Guimaras Research Conference, slated on October 15, 2026, at the Agri-Eco Convention Hall, Salvador Campus.

The conference forms part of the 3rd Guimaras Data Festival, held in observance of the 37th National Statistics Month, and carries the theme โ€œTuklas Pilipinas: Statistics as Beacon Towards Inclusive, Resilient, and Sustainable Tourism.โ€

The research gathering seeks to foreground empirical inquiry and data-driven scholarship that can inform conversations on inclusive development, resilience, and sustainability, particularly within contexts relevant to Guimaras.

Researchers may submit papers under three research clusters:

1. Education, Economy, and Health
2. Engineering, Environmental Management, and Tourism
3. Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry

Submitted studies will undergo evaluation and will be considered for cluster-based distinctions, including Best Paper and Best Presenter.

The deadline for submission is August 31, 2026, while the Notice of Acceptance is scheduled for release on September 7, 2026. The conference will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on October 15.

The call provides a scholarly avenue for researchers and practitioners to surface evidence, exchange disciplinary perspectives, and translate data into knowledge relevant to the Province's development priorities.
