The Alternative Learning System of the Schools Division of Guimaras conducted its SY 2024โ2025 Graduation and Moving-Up Ceremonies in HRDC Rooms A and B of the SDO Guimaras Building on July 15, 2025. This year's theme, โHenerasyon ng Pagkakaisa: Kaagapay sa Bagong Pilipinas,โ highlights the resilience and determination of ALS learners who have overcome barriers to complete their Elementary and Junior High School Education.
The event was graced by Dr. Novelyn M. Vilchez, CESO VI, Schools Division Superintendent; Dr. Leah C. Belleza, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent; Education Program Supervisors; Public Schools District Supervisors; and ALas Specialists. Their presence reaffirmed the Divisionโs commitment to ensuring that education remains inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the needs of diverse learners in the Schools Division of Guimaras.
A highlight of the ceremony was the keynote address delivered by Pastor Ric M. Sedigo, Jr., an accomplished product of the ALS program. In his inspiring message, Pastor Sedigo recounted how ALS served as a turning point in his life, providing him with a second chance to finish his basic education and pursue his aspirations.
He emphasized that faith, perseverance, and dedication are essential in achieving oneโs goals. Pastor Sedigo encouraged the graduates to believe in themselves and never feel ashamed of being ALS learners, reminding them that their journey stands as proof of their courage and resilience. He noted that their stories are powerful examples of how alternative education can transform lives and contribute to a united generation working hand in hand for a better Philippines.
The ceremony concluded with a strong sense of hope and solidarity, echoing the core message of the theme โ that every ALS graduate is not only a testament to the power of second chances but also a vital partner in building a stronger, more cohesive society.
