In compliance with Division Memorandum No. 316, s. 2026,"Participation of All Schools and DepEd Offices in the 2026 National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) Activities," Pagala East Elementary School actively participated in the month-long observance of the 2026 National Disaster Resilience Month through a series of activities aligned with the thematic pillars of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM). These activities were implemented under the leadership and supervision of Dr. Mary Hazel B. Ballena, School Principal IV, together with SDRRM Coordinator Cerine M. Anin and the teaching personnel of Pagala East Elementary School.
The school commenced its participation on July 7, 2026, under the theme Philippine DRRM System, through the posting of the NDRM 2026 Tarpaulin to raise awareness and promote the objectives of the national campaign. In support of the Prevention and Mitigation theme, a Tree Planting Activity was conducted on July 10, 2026, emphasizing environmental protection and disaster risk reduction. On July 16, 2026, under the theme Preparedness, learners, teachers, and stakeholders participated in a Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness Orientation facilitated by personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), enhancing their knowledge and readiness for emergencies. To strengthen response capabilities, the school conducted an Earthquake Drill on July 21, 2026, in line with the Response theme, allowing the school community to practice proper emergency procedures. The month-long celebration concluded on July 27, 2026, with a School Clean-Up Drive under the theme Rehabilitation and Recovery, promoting collective action in maintaining a safe, healthy, and resilient learning environment.
Through these activities, Pagala East Elementary School demonstrated its commitment to advancing disaster resilience, preparedness, and cultivating a culture of safety among learners, personnel, and stakeholders.
