A Grateful Farewell: Honoring the Leadership and Legacy of Sir Gab

The ringing of the bell last September 17, 2026 carries a tone of reflection and gratitude. The school community gathers not just to mark another academic milestone, but to pay tribute to a leader whose impact has left a lasting impression on our halls. Through the Salamat, Paalam Sir Gab! program, learners, faculty, staff, and parents unite to honor our school principal as he prepares to embark on a new chapter of his educational journey at another school.

Throughout his tenure, Sir Gab has been more than an administrator; he has served as a steady compass for our institution. Under his guidance, our school navigated challenges with resilience and celebrated victories with humility. His commitment to fostering an environment where every learner could thrive academic and personally set a standard of excellence. Whether stepping into classrooms to offer encouragement, guiding teachers through professional growth, or greeting everyone with a warm word in the hallways, his presence consistently brought a sense of purpose and community.

The “Salamat, Paalam Sir Gab!” farewell program stands as a heartfelt celebration of these achievements and shared memories. The afternoon features poems and musical tributes, personal messages from the teachers, learners and parents to express their appreciation. While the occasion naturally brings a touch of sadness, the overriding spirit of the event is one of deep gratitude for his dedicated service, visionary leadership, faith in the potential of our school and most especially his humility and patience.

We extend our warmest wishes and profound thanks to Sir Gab, wishing him endless success and fulfillment in his next chapter. Salamat at paalam, Sir Gab! Agyaman kami ti KINAANUS mo sir!…

Innovative Horizon: School-Based INSET Ignites AI Revolution in Education

Today, September 9, 2026, marked the opening of the School-Based In-Service Training (INSET), setting an inspiring tone for professional growth and modern pedagogical advancement. Teachers gathered with enthusiasm to embark on a professional development journey centered on integrating 21st-century technology directly into the classroom.

The day began on a grounded and uplifting note. Mrs. Clarissa Palcon, Teacher I, led a solemn opening prayer, inviting wisdom, unity, and purpose for the training ahead, followed by an opening remarks from Mr. Gabriel B. Velasco, Principal II.

Shortly after, the room’s energy skyrocketed through a lively energizer facilitated by Mrs. Gladies B. Imado, Teacher III, leaving the participants refreshed, motivated, and ready to engage.

With minds focused and spirits high, the training transitioned into its core theme for the day: Artificial Intelligence in Education. The sessions systematically unpacked three vital areas:
✅Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
✅Practical AI Tools
✅Responsible and Ethical Use of AI

The day's discussions were spearheaded by two speakers. Mr. Gabriel B. Velasco, School Principal II, provided high-level vision and leadership context, emphasizing how AI can be harnessed to empower educators rather than replace them.
Complementing this visionary perspective, Mrs. Jocelyn C. Bernal, Teacher VI, delivered practical, classroom-oriented insights, guiding teachers through hands-on applications and ethical frameworks.

By the end of the first day, educators left equipped with valuable insights and renewed confidence to navigate the digital frontier. The successful launch of this year's INSET underscores a collective commitment to continuous learning, ensuring our school remains at the forefront of innovative and responsible education.

Safety First: Layugan IS Joins 2026 National Simultaneous Safety Drill

To strengthen emergency preparedness and foster a culture of resilience, Layugan Integrated School (LIS), led by School Principal II, Mr. Gabriel B. Velasco, successfully participated in the National Simultaneous Safety Drill 2026.

Conducted in close coordination with the local government unit and the Philippine National Police (LGU-PNP), the drill aimed to equip learners and school personnel with life-saving skills and practical knowledge for emergency situations. Participants practiced standard response protocols, focusing on remaining calm, staying alert, and taking immediate action during unexpected disasters.

School administrators highlighted that safety is an ongoing commitment rather than a one-time event. By regularly conducting these simulations, LIS ensures that its entire academic community is well-prepared to safeguard lives when crises strike.

As the school continues to prioritize disaster readiness, the core message remains clear: safety starts with preparedness—and staying alert, informed, and ready is a shared responsibility for everyone.
