"ENHANCING SAFETY AND SECURITY"

Madalipay Elementary School implemented the installation of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras within the school premises using funds from the School Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) aligned with the school improvement plan. The activity was undertaken to strengthen the school’s security measures and promote a safe and secure learning environment for learners, teaching and non-teaching personnel, and other stakeholders.
The installation of the CCTV system was initiated as part of the school’s continuing efforts to improve its Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM), safety, and security measures. The cameras were strategically installed in identified areas of the school premises to provide monitoring and help deter unauthorized entry, theft, vandalism, and other incidents that may compromise the safety and security of the school community.

In response to the effects of Typhoon Maymay and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), the school conducted an inspection of its structures, buildings, facilities, and surrounding areas on August 11, 2026. The activity was undertaken to assess the condition of the school premises and ensure the safety of learners, teaching and non-teaching personnel, and other stakeholders.
The inspection was conducted by the school personnel, led by the School Head, with the participation of the alternate School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Coordinator They systematically checked the classrooms, school buildings, roofing, ceilings, windows, doors, electrical installations, drainage systems, pathways, fences, covered areas, trees, and other school facilities that may have been affected by strong winds and heavy rainfall.
During the inspection, particular attention was given to possible structural damages, water intrusion, leaks, fallen branches, clogged drainage canals, damaged roofing materials, and other hazards that could pose risks to the school community. The inspected areas were documented, and observed concerns were noted for appropriate action and monitoring.
The purpose of the activity is to ensure the safety of learners, teaching and non-teaching personnel upon the resume of classes.

On July 30, 2026, Madalipay Elementary School successfully conducted a Holy Spirit Mass within the school premises solemnized by Father John Vasquez. The activity was attended by the School Officer-In-Charge, teaching and non-teaching personnel, learners, parents, and other stakeholders, who gathered in prayer and thanksgiving.

The Holy Mass was celebrated to seek God's guidance, blessings, and protection for the entire school community as they continue to pursue quality education and holistic development of learners. It also served as an opportunity to strengthen the spiritual well-being of everyone and foster values of faith, unity, gratitude, and service.
Throughout the celebration, the participants actively took part in the prayers, hymns, Scripture readings, and the Eucharistic celebration. The priest delivered an inspiring homily emphasizing the importance of faith, compassion, responsibility, and perseverance in facing life's challenges and fulfilling one's duties in school and in the community.

Overall, the School Holy Mass was conducted successfully and achieved its purpose of bringing the school community together in prayer, promoting spiritual enrichment, and encouraging everyone to continue working harmoniously toward the attainment of the school's educational goals.

On July 28, 2026, Madalipay Elementary School successfully conducted the 2nd Summative Test for Term 1 of School Year 2026–2027. The assessment was administered to learners in accordance with the Department of Education's assessment guidelines to evaluate their understanding and mastery of the competencies covered during the second part of the first term.

Prior to the administration of the test, teachers ensured that all testing materials were prepared and that the classrooms provided a conducive environment for assessment. Learners were oriented on the testing procedures and reminded of the importance of honesty, discipline, and integrity while taking the examination.

The summative test was conducted in an orderly and systematic manner under the close supervision of the teachers. Learners actively participated and completed the assessment within the allotted time. Throughout the activity, proper testing protocols were strictly observed to maintain the credibility and reliability of the examination.

The activity was attended by the school head and teaching personnel as part of the school's continuous professional development initiatives to ensure quality instruction and adherence to the latest Department of Education policies.

The session provided teachers with a comprehensive discussion of the updated guidelines on classroom observation, emphasizing the standards and indicators used in evaluating teaching performance. In celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month, the Bucay Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), headed by Ms. Margarita G. Sanico, in partnership with the Bucay Municipal Police Station (MPS), conducted a Disaster Preparedness Activity and First Aide Training at Madalipay Elementary School on July 16, 2026.

The activity aimed to enhance the preparedness of learners, teachers, and school personnel by equipping them with essential knowledge and practical skills needed during emergencies and disasters. Participants attended an informative lecture on disaster preparedness, highlighting the importance of readiness, proper response, and community cooperation in minimizing the impact of natural and human-induced hazards.

One of the highlights of the activity was the lecture and hands-on demonstration on Basic Life Support (BLS), including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for drowning victims, and proper bandaging techniques. The MDRRMO personnel demonstrated the correct procedures in assessing an emergency situation, administering CPR to a drowning victim, and applying appropriate bandages for common injuries. Participants were also given the opportunity to observe and practice the proper techniques under the guidance of the facilitators, making the learning experience interactive, practical, and engaging.

The Bucay Municipal Police Station (MPS) also shared valuable reminders on maintaining peace, order, and safety during emergencies. They encouraged everyone to stay calm, remain vigilant, and work together to ensure the safety of the school and the community during disaster situations.

The activity was both informative and inspiring, strengthening the confidence of the participants to respond appropriately during emergencies. More importantly, it reinforced the importance of preparedness, teamwork, and timely action in saving lives and reducing the risks brought about by disasters.

The activity was attended by the school head, teachers, and learners who worked together in planting tree seedlings. It aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage everyone to take part in protecting and preserving nature.
