In support of the Department of Education’s Inclusive Education Program, the Boston District conducted its SNED Fun Day 2026 on August 14, 2026 at Navy Gym, Cabasagan, Boston, Davao Oriental. The activity aimed to provide learners with special educational needs (LSENs) a joyful and meaningful opportunity to showcase their talents, develop social skills, and experience success in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Throughout the day, learners of Caatijan Elementary School displayed enthusiasm, cooperation, and pride in their accomplishments. Parents expressed appreciation for the event, noting how it boosted their children’s confidence and allowed them to interact positively with peers from other classes and schools. The activity concluded with an award ceremony and distribution of certificates of participation, reinforcing the message that every learner is valued, capable, and important.

To our parents, thank you for entrusting us with your children, for encouraging them to participate, and for being their constant source of love and strength. Your presence and cooperation remind us that every learner thrives best when home and school work hand in hand.

To our School Head, sir Rodolfo P. Bantayan, Jr., thank you for your visionary leadership, guidance, and steadfast belief in the value of inclusive education. Your support provides our learners with disabilities the opportunity to shine, belong, and grow in a safe and nurturing environment.

To our dedicated School SNED Coordinator, Maam Anna Karinina A. Manaytay, coaches Mr. Jaime A. Ombaogan, Ms. Grace L. Cornelio, Ms. Glaiza V. Masugbod and Mr. Herbert L. Pawaon, thank you for your patience and tireless efforts in preparing our learners. Your commitment goes beyond teaching skills; you build confidence, foster friendship, and help every child discover that they are capable and valued.

Because of you, our SNED Fun Day was more than just an activity—it became a celebration of inclusion, talent, and hope. May we continue to walk together in ensuring that no learner is left behind.

In celebration of the 48th National Disability Rights Week, with the theme “Rights First, Legislation Forward: Strategic Action for Equal Participation and Inclusive Development,” we are called to strengthen laws, programs, and services that remove barriers and create opportunities for all. The celebration is not only a recognition of the challenges faced by persons with disabilities, but also a commitment to a future where everyone can thrive with dignity, independence, and full inclusion.

The school successfully conducted a Learning Action Cell (LAC) session with the School SNED coordinator, ma'am Anna Karinina A. Manaytay and Drawing Contest to promote awareness, inclusion, and appreciation of the rights and abilities of persons with difficulties. The LAC session provided teachers with an opportunity to discuss inclusive practices, learner-centered strategies, Formal and Informal Assessments, tagging of LSENs(Learners with Special Educational Needs) in the LIS(Learner Information System) and SNED(Special Needs Education) programs/activities to better support learners with diverse needs. Through sharing of ideas and experiences, the participants deepened their understanding of how schools can create a more accessible and supportive learning environment for all learners.

As part of the celebration, the Drawing Contest highlighted the creativity and talents of learners as they expressed their thoughts and gave them a meaningful venue to show and reflect on the importance of respect, equality, and participation.

The activity served as a reminder that every child has unique strengths that deserve recognition and encouragement.

The conduct of these activities made the celebration more meaningful because of the support of the school community headed by our School Head, Mr. Rodolfo P. Bantayan, Jr. and reinforced the school’s commitment to inclusive education and a more compassionate school community.
