A student gets up as their teacher tells them to copy and take notes. He asks his classmates for his notebook because he doesn't have a bag. A student appreciates your slippers—and even asks if he can have them. Another student raises his hand while the teacher is checking attendance, and notice his uniform has holes under the arms.
These are just some of the everyday realities you witness as a Panalugon teacher—you see how tough life is for these learners, yet they still keep going. They come to school unashamed: in ripped clothes, unmatched slippers, and sometimes asking their classmates to carry their things because they don’t have a bag.
And despite it all, you’ll see them every school day—happy, playful, and most of the time, a little naughty—living life as if they have the best of it.
Being a Panalugon teacher can truly break your heart! But it also opens your eyes to the beauty of contentment and the simplicity of life.

In the process, they teach you more than any lesson plan ever could!

With hearts full of gratitude, we celebrated a momentous occasion at Pinanag-an Extension Classes during our 2nd Moving Up Ceremony and Recognition Rites.

All glory and thanks to God, whose guidance, grace, and blessings have brought our learners, teachers, and families to this meaningful milestone.

Congratulations to the Junior High School Grade 10 – Makabansa completers! Your hard work, resilience, and faith have led you to this proud moment. May you continue to walk with purpose and hope as you move forward in your journey.

We were honored by the presence of our special guests from the Borongan City Division Office, Mr. Jesus Esteban Lapada, and Mr. Lorie Emmanuel Arago, as well as BNHS School Head, Ms. Muriel Josefa Coles.

Special thanks as well to Hon. Ivy B. Capones, SK Chairwoman and proud resident of Barangay Pinanag-an, for sharing her inspiring message.
