ALS Borongan City Launches Community Mapping to Identify Out-of-School Learners
BORONGAN CITY — In a proactive move to continually bridge the educational gap, the Alternative Learning System (ALS) Borongan City Division has officially kicked off its community mapping activity to identify potential learners for the upcoming school year.
Leading the frontline efforts are ALS teachers, joined by the Education Program Supervisor (EPS) and Education Program Specialist for ALS (EPSA). The team has begun visiting various barangays across the city to locate and engage out-of-school children, youth and adults (OSCYAs) who wish to continue their basic education through flexible learning pathways (face-to-face, online, modular or distance learning) to ensure that no learner is left behind.
The result of this mapping activity will be used to organize new learning groups at their respective Community Learning Centers or CLCs for the next academic cycle. Local residents led by the brgy. officials are encouraged to cooperate with the visiting teams and help identify family members or neighbors who could benefit from the program.
Enrollment for the ALS program usually follows shortly after the mapping phase. Interested individuals are advised to prepare basic requirements such as a birth certificate or any previous school records (if available) and/or any valid ID.
