A message to the parents of our Esnchs Seniorhigh students:
Good day po!
As we embark into a new horizon of our students' mode of schooling, we also are faced with unpredictable and uncertain challenges.
Only now do we realize how difficult teaching job is when you as parents become instant teachers to our own children and as your homes become classrooms, so as your patience to transfer of learning is emboldened and so some of us may already have grasped the idea of the kind of life a teacher has in each and every passing days of school calendar.
All of our teachers surprisingly became effective delivery service people.
We turned into weekend warriors without being compensated for it; sacrificing our family time to serve our people.
We painfully endure the agony of getting news feeds about students and parents burning modules which we educators laboriously worked on for them beyond our official time, at times spending our personal money to anxiously round up the demand for learning materials just so our children are served their constitutional rights to quality education in and for our country because we truly believe that education is the greatest equalizer.
Teachers walk extra miles for our students every single day. They are heroes without capes and most of lay people will never ever understand it until they put themselves in teacher's shoes.
They cross quagmire and hanging bridges and rivers to hand modules out, encounter inhospitable community officials at times not allowed to get into their barangay halls under the soaking rain.
Some of us parents would demand for a house-to-house delivery of modules for our kids. In our case it is humanly impossible considering the area we cover, notwithstanding the number of students every team composed of only 6 teachers has. We do house to house po as much as we can, permeable. We are not like elementary school wherein which the enrollees are from almost one and the same community or barangay.
Let me set an example:
Team 1 covers barangays Pepilitan, Hindang, Canlaray up to the last barangay in the north plus municipalities of San Julian (43 students), Sulat (69 students) up to Taft (2), Dolores (3), Oras (33)until extreme Arteche(13). We travel these places twice a week. Imagine the logistics incurred.
Mind us, we have 8 teams all in all.
I hope this scenario awakens our compassionate sense.
There are mayors who are true leaders. They reach out and understand how vital education is to the future of their municipality thus extending their help the best they could and it cascades to the community leaders.
Our appeal to you parents is - this is the time for us to shift to a normal wherein we clasp our hands together for the better.
An African proverb says "it takes a whole village to raise a child".
We are a village. Bayanihan is the name of the game now.
We cannot be despondent and we have to lift each other's spirits and keep the education flame burning until this trying time is over.
Remember, this pandemic is just one stage of the many years of our lives. This too shall pass.
We educators appeal for everybody's cooperation and understanding. We are far from perfecting the new system yet. In fact we cannot perfect it. But no government agency can serve our country better than our humble teachers.
Sana lang po maging mabait at maalalahanin tayo sa ating mga g**o sa panahon na mas kinakailangang magtulongan.
Together everyone achieves more.
