Diplomats from the Tourism Management Program joined the celebration of the 4th Cordillera Golfers Foundation, Inc. (CGFI) Golf Tournament Awarding Ceremony held at the Newton Hotel in Baguio City.

The event marked the culmination of Northern Luzon’s biggest charity golf tournament, which gathered nearly 400 golfers from various teams across the country and overseas at Pinewoods Golf & Country Club and Camp John Hay’s John Hay Golf Club.

Through the ongoing partnership of the Besao LGU and Mountain Province State University (MPSU) under Project Golinsan, a Tourism Development Workshop was successfully conducted for the Lacmaan–Agawa–Gueday–Ambagiw–Tamboan Environmental Guides Association (LEGA). The activity helped strengthen responsible guiding while promoting eco-stewardship, biodiversity protection, proper waste management, and awareness of environmental laws in community-based tourism.

This workshop also serves as part of the preparation for the upcoming tourism activities.

Our sincere thanks to MPSU for the continued support and for sharing their expertise with our local environmental guides. 🌿

BONTOC, MOUNTAIN PROVINCE- Over the past two weeks, Mountain Province State University welcomed visitors from Cambodia and France, and it turned into this really warm cultural exchange.

The Tourism students were wonderful hosts, they greeted everyone with big smiles, helped with bags and tours, shared stories about the school and the beautiful heritage of Mountain Province, and just made sure the guests felt comfortable and welcome.

Little thoughtful things like offering a bottle of water after a walk or explaining local traditions really made a difference. The visitors seemed to really appreciate it, and it was lovely to see. One person said it so well: “True diplomats connect hearts through simple hospitality.” That’s exactly the kind of warmth our students brought. When the groups left, they took home good memories along with the agreements they signed. It was a sweet reminder of how much heart goes into what the Tourism students are learning.

Empowering Besao's future through sustainable tourism!

The College of International Hospitality and Sustainable Tourism Management (CIHSTM) - Tourism Management Program, together with Besao LGU and ICT unit, successfully held a 3-day seminar-workshop: “Empowering Communities through Sustainable Development: Tour Package and Destination Mapping”

Participants learned to identify local treasures, craft authentic tour itineraries, master basic photography for promotion, and create hands-on destination maps while exploring stunning spots like Tanap Rice Terraces, Amdakoog Forest, Lamot River, and Mount Atlas.

Aligned with SDGs 8, 11, and 17, this initiative builds stronger partnerships, boosts economic opportunities, preserves culture, and puts the community at the heart of tourism.
