In the fourth session this afternoon, participants were edified of the significance of English as a second language and the strategic use of Filipino, Mother-tongue and English in the teaching and learning process.

This talk was delivered by Mr. Jomar V. Marasigan, Head Teacher from Puerto Galera NHS- Main Campus.

The third session today which focused on the topic Language and Science Learning was delivered and presented by Madam Agnes Arguelles Taladtad, school head of Bulalacao NHS.

During the lecture, Madam Taladtad underscored the significant stages of language acquisition and introduced tools and techniques on how delivery of science lessons can be effectively carried out using various language strategies.

On the second session this morning, Public Schools District Supervisor of Naujan South Mr. Alfonzo G. Encisa edified the participants of sheltered Instruction and how this could help English Language Learners as they work towards fluency in English.

Here are a few photos of the Opening Program of the three-day seminar on the Division Training on Language Strategies in Teaching Science.

Present in the activity is the CID Chief Madam Charity Capunitan who inspired the participants with her words of wisdom. She further commended OrMin science educators and challenged them to continue doing the noble job of molding and teaching students.

Moreover, in her speech, Division EPS Claire Villaruel recognized the efforts of KaScience Teachers in ensuring quality science education and in promoting excellence among learners.

The Brightest STAR is in the house 🌟!

2021 DOST Brightest STAR National Finalist and Head Teacher of San Teodoro NHS Mr. Mark Anthony C. Leido served as the resource speaker during the first session this morning. During the talk, Leido presented data from recent studies about the status of english proficiency in the country and edified participants on how language can be a tool for effective science instruction.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | Agham OrMin conducts Division Training on Language Strategies in Teaching Science

Aimed at equipping science educators the innovative language strategies in teaching science, a three-day seminar is currently being held at Jopats Resort, Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro, December 2-4,2022.

The training is spearheaded by the Education Program Supervisor in Science Madam Clarita G. Villaruel together with trainers who attended the regional seminar held in Palawan.

This is a re-echo of the regional seminar sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute under Project STAR (Science Teachers Academy for the Regions) which envisions to develop professional learning communities that will sustain teachers capability building and uplift the quality of STEM education.

With this seminar-workshop, teachers are expected to acquire strategies and techniques in using language as a tool in improving science instruction.

With the aim of upgrading excellence of Senior High School Science Teachers, the Division of Oriental Mindoro through the headship of EPS in Science Madam Clarita G. Villaruel, conducted today, the first in-person training for school year 2022-2023 titled 𝘋𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 & 𝘛𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘌𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘴 (𝘚𝘛𝘌𝘔) 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 at Jopats Resort, Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.
